964 Prices

@Rennen I am sure people know better than me, but I would estimate that you would be around 110-140K. I know that is a broad band, but that is based off the latest auctions, what is currently listed in the market, private sales I have heard about, and sales in Europe. The fact that your car is blue (as opposed to white, red, or black which were standard and Blue and Silver which were options) brings a premium above the other RS America colors other than Yellow. That would be the range I think you would get at private sale depending on condition etc. If you sold to a dealer less.
If you are interested in selling shoot me a DM.

i'd put the RSA at the top end of your suggested range. with 42k miles and all original (where the money is on something like this), it should bring somewhere in the $140-150k range based on equivalent C2s. all original RSAs with low-ish mileage are going to be harder and harder to find. not sure midnight brings a premium, but it shouldn't hurt. the RSA has always been a bit of a anomaly - rare with only 701 produced, but overlooked like the 964 was, and still not a huge premium over the standard C2. the e36 M3 LTW is now way more valuable than a standard e36 M3 and the formula was essentially the identical. LTWs are probably around 4x times more expensive than a similar M3 (only 125 made), while the RSA is only a percentage more valuable than the C2 - maybe 40%. the big difference being the volume of e36 M3s made. the big thing in your favor, imo, is the amount of RSAs that have come up for sale in recent years. put it on BaT and i bet it brings LOTS of attention and interest.

If everything is sorted on the car, I do agree that it would be in the higher amount of my range, but I tried to take into consideration aspects of the car that could negatively impact price, which is why I stated in a range, since I dont know anything about the car other than the pic (which looks great) and the mileage (which is also great). If everything is spot on (no repaint, low owners, etc.) then yeah 140 (maybe 150) would probably be right. I do also agree that the RS America is overlooked. The premium is probably closer to 25% than 40% over an identical C2, but there have been so few of both in the last year that it is certainly hard to tell..
I was actually re-reading adrians essential buyer's guide on buying a 964 a day or two ago. The book was I think published in 2010, and he compares the 964 model pricing and the premium they command on a few pages, and I have to say that it is still pretty accurate today. He talked in percentages not prices obviously, but from what I have seen he is pretty spot on. Of course there are outliers (low mileage mint or ruby late model C2's, etc.), but on the whole I think he is still pretty accurate.
To the extent it helps, her are a few examples on the market. All appear at least at first blush decent RSA examples with lower mileage (I think top mileage is like 60K). I really haven't looked into these as much, because I am not really interested in black white, red or silver cars, but it should give you some idea of what is out there. https://www.ebay.com/itm/11487539127...QAAOSwi0lg3r5t

Thanks to both of you. The car is all original paint, clean interior, a rare 964 that doesn't leak a spot of oil. It does have some minor road wear, mostly just paint around the rear fenders from pebbles and dust. I even have the original mats, manuals and the leather key pouch that came with the car when it was delivered. I've owned it since 2008. I also have a full set of service manuals that I bought at significant expense.

I had said that this is the car that I would never sell, but by my own actions I have seemed to have lost interest. I used to track this car, but it became too valuable (I now have a 968 that I track and I race Miatas with a friend). About 5 years ago the engine was rebuilt, but two of the rings didn't set right and those two cylinders don't do well in a leakdown (20%), but they have totally fine compression across all cylinders and she does not seem to burn oil. The body was redone about 6 years ago and is beautiful. The interior, having been a race car, was not in good shape and I gutted it about 4 years ago and I have everything needed to put it back together - new items from classic9 such as a RS cargpet kit, replaneled RS door inserts, new Carbeau seats, etc. Glass, sunroof, and headliner have been installed. The proof that I've lost interest is that the interior is still not installed. So the question becomes, what's it worth? She runs and drives great, needs interior to be installed and will need the rings attended to at some point. Graphics are vinyl and can be removed. Car shows 80k miles. It was a race car and has full monoball adjustable suspension, limited slip G50 gear box, no heat or AC, lightweight flywheel, stage 2 clutch, coil overs, bolt in half or full cage, race exhaust, cross bracing, etc. various wheels would be available too.

While we’re at it….
93 RSA - red one 21,xxx miles all original LSD, AC No Sunroof….getting too precious for a daily driver.
93 RSA - White one 82,000 miles, all original, stolen rebuilt as race car, with all the original parts available….thinking about making it street legal again for a canyon carver…or just selling it or the red car and trying to find a nice 964 coupe to dd…..

It seems the RSA's aren't bringing the extra dollars they were over the C2's as they did years ago. There is still a premium but it seems rare colors and options on any C2 can trump an RSA. It all depends on the car. The red RSA should bring strong money. I would be careful of some of Canepa's cars. I have seen some things that didn't make me happy. He does have the 993 3.8RSR I was all over a year or so back at the time they were asking $50k over $1M. I am sure he is asking more.

I just put my 964 C2 on the sites classifieds tonight. It is a rare color combo car that I recently purchased here from a fellow Rennlister. Dunkleblau ( dark blue ) with a Mahogany interior. I really thought this would be my keeper 964 and a week after I bought it, a very nice 94 wide body car fell in my lap. So off she goes to a new owner in the future. For now, here is a pic of the car from the original ad. The color is a very dark blue, ink color. Very nice driving car with some nice mods.
