@cobalt My RSA does not have black inside the doors. It has been repainted but not that portion of the car, to my knowledge.

Same dealer has this GP White C4 Wide Body.

The price of the widebody is $300k. Very optimistic pricing especially considering this other example has been asking $300k for several months with no takers. They bought it off BaT for $238k and have been trying to flip it for $300k since November. The Guards Red car has half the mileage and is just a nicer example than the white one.

Interesting. Mine is 32nd from last, and interior door paint is body matched. Frunk and wheel wells also in body color, but crinkle paint.

@jeff33702 Have you seen this? https://www.porscheregister.com/964-...-1992-1994-all. Shows the entire production run by serial / color.

No, I had not - thanks! There's mine. I'm 1994 135. 10th from last. Would have been cool to be that last Polar car.

As far as the black around the door cards.

I found an old hard drive with a lot of pics of original paint 93-94 cars. To my chagrin It would appear that some came without the paint around the door cards. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. Some earlier cars did not have it and some later did. Could be they were pressured to complete and shut down the production line for retooling. It could be the concern over jobs. IIRC they laid off most of their workforce and rehired after the retrofit of the facility for the new 993 mechanized approach. It could be they cut out the process depending on where it was in the production sequence. All speculation but I do stand corrected and there are cars that came through during the final 964 years without it. So I can only use this for the earlier cars and not late 93-94 cars. I do have a bunch of 95 993's with original paint and they did paint around the door cards. If anyone has an earlier than 93 without it and feel they have original paint I would be interested in more info.

The car listed above doesn't have the paint around the door cards but my friends guards red did.

just another thing to learn about these. No matter how much I learn there always seems to be something else.

I’m a mid-model year 1993 964, 90% original paint, and I have black paint around door cards.

Took these recently while replacing door pulls. '93 production; '94 designation. Car has had some paintwork, but I believe this is all original.

My 93 (November 92 build date) is body colored around the door cards. My dad bought it new so I know the doors haven't been sprayed since the car was painted at the factory.

So color might have something to do with it or QC was not paying attention. Seems a number came without it which is contrary to most I have seen going way back. My friend is restoring an early 912 prototype and it has the black as well.

The 964 has more variations than any other model I have researched. Great info guys always good to know the facts.

Here's a shot of the inside of my door. I can see how yours is different.

I'm a bit surprised as usually they all had the black if it had a black interior. No doubt times were hard and they were probably finding ways to reduce costs. They also stopped using the crinkle paint under the frunk hood by this time. It was another of those added processes that I guess they decided to eliminate.

It's hard to tell in the photo, but my interior is Marine Blue. Maybe that's why.

I'll check my 92 C2 when I get home, that car is GPW over Marine Blue.

My car was built at the same time as Mark’s, and is only a couple numbers away in VIN, and has no black around the door cards. It has a black interior.
