The fly yellow RSA is just about the perfect Porsche to my taste. Just one big thing I dislike and that would be the RSA tail. I guess if I :
A.) felt I could justify another toy
B.) had the presence to bid/win the auction

I could buy/and paint a operable wing like my C2 (and add a Porsche classic radio). Of course I know most would call that sacrilege. I will just continue enjoying my same year GPW (also a favorite color) C2 and feel fortunate I am not still trying to find a car.

Considering the rarity of this machine and the fact it had no sunroof I feel that price is a bit low in this market. It would seem the gap between clean low mile C2's and RSA's is closing.

Interesting, Some people are tail people and others not. I like both and I appreciate the added downforce and reduced front end lift at speed with the tail. I just reworked my C2 removing my sunroof and had the back end of the car painted. It didn't need it but wanted it so I had both the RSA wing I have and the original motorized wing painted, this way I can switch as my mood suits.

There is no justification for owning more than one, you just do it or not. When I sold my last 914 to a woman many years ago that owned multiple cars my wife looked at her in a way asking why the need for so many? Well as you can see it can escalate easily if you aren't careful. LOL

Nope, he -- Keith -- auctioned it a couple years ago.
At least that's what he wrote in an article for his local (San Diego) PCA chapter's web site.
Said he was making room on account that it wasn't getting driven near as much as his more modern 911.

Weird, small world: He and I met while working at the same SD-based aerospace company. He became my 964 mentor of sorts.
At the time ('06) I was looking at 3.2/964/993 optons (as my 2nd 911) to pick up in the So. Cal area. My budget was about $20k.
Yeah -- there were plenty of examples to look over at that time and place. (Man, Mr. Peabody! What I'd give now for a WayBack Machine!)
After finding three examples of the different platforms and laying out pictures of them, I asked his opinion on the trio.
His advice was pretty adament: Take the 964.

If someone wants to see if the prices for 964's have gone crazy, then have someone float me a nice late year 964 c2 in Amethyst or other rare color....

with many of these cars selling privately, i think you're going to have to be well connected to be the first in on a rare color 964. i know you have the budget, but being first in line can be the hardest part. i think a euro car might be a good option, as they have far more unique color combinations and the overall import costs aren't going to blow your budget out. i remember seriously considering a midnight blue over magenta C2 coupe and talking to JAB12 about his import expenses on his recent targa.

i was looking at the elferspot candy store every day.

this is the midnight/magenta 964 i was talking about...
https://www.elferspot.com/en/car/por...4-1991-991696/
i really liked the uniqueness of this color combo, but the mileage and being a C4 finally cooled my interested.
elferspot even has a black over magenta right now, but it's also a C4. for some reason, i have a weakness for that magenta interior.

Well the game is certainly changing. $136K (approx, including fees) for an 80,000+ mile modded silver Carrera 4.

https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/1...1-carrera-4-1/

Not bad.

that car doesn't sell for that number without the 3.8 build. i was a bit surprised by the final number also, though.

Out of curiosity, if I were to put this '93 RS America, midnight blue, 42k miles, all four options, unmodified except the radio head unit (I have the original) on the market, any idea what price range I should expect to get for it?
