And it's gone

sure, and people even used to put classifieds in magazines too. But nowadays, anyone with a good 928 will never put it on PCA Mart (believe
me, I was looking for one to buy for 16 months and checked it religiously - it’s dead) or Autotrader. Someone with a well maintained car will put it on BaT or PCarmarket - or give it to one of the auction houses if it’s a really special one.
The best OB 928s I saw in the last year have been on BaT and PCarmarket (including of course the epic ones sold by @Rob Edwards and @olmann )
things have changed and these online platforms are where some of the best cars trade now. That’s not to say that all the sellers or cars are good, it’s just that they can’t be dismissed in their entirety.

It wasn't until someone bumped into him a week after delivery that this was uncovered.
The worst I had seen was a 70's Chevelle. It was actually quite convincing until we looked underneath and found that the entire rear quarter was constructed of chicken wire covered in gallons of bondo and sculpted.
I have many friends who have purchased good cars from these platforms but they were educated in what they purchased and checked the cars in person before bidding. No different than having a PPI done. I can look at most 964/993's in pictures and pick out inconsistencies which 9 times out of 10 lead to hidden undisclosed issues.
Many like some mentioned above are pulling scams constantly and the cars aren't as represented. If it is a valuable car with low miles and rare the best platforms are usually Gooding or Sotheby's for exotics or Porsche's. Most of the really nice cars I see trade are still done privately through small boutique shops or word of mouth. I am looking into importing a very rare Porsche exceedingly low production and has survived nearly 30 years with only 20km on the odo. An auction house will be the best place to sell. I agree low miles have their issues but delivery miles on a car like this is going to command big money here to those with deep pockets and like to collect rarities like this.

BAT has a decent white over black 85k 928 GT on that closes tomorrow that is not getting much attention.

They do? I don't see any 928 auctions 'live' on BAT right now. Got a link?

Probably why it's not getting a lot of attention: it's not properly tagged as "Model: 928" on BaT so anyone (like me) who has alerts set up for that model, would not have received one, and anyone searching in the 928 model category would not see it. If I was the seller, I'd ask them to relist it - he's not getting the eyeballs he should get for his auction

Yes very strange. He should have BaT relist it. Btw are those air tubes correct for a late year GT? They look like GTS tubes.
