With 4 days to go, that '89 GT on BaT is off to a very healthy start.

the estimate actually seems bout right to me. Wrong wheels (15" instead of 16"), wrong exhaust, red plug wires, wrong intake tubes, looks like restuffed front seats but maybe not - but the leather doesn't look cork like the rest of the interior, and these seats actually were vinyl. The dash likewise looks recovered, with non-matching tan instead of cork. The center consol insert was cut for an aftermarket stereo, and the A/C vent fins are broken out. It's a cool color and I hope it hits the estimate.

This has to be one of the nicest conversions I've ever seen.
Tasty.

I would like to say that this is a jazzed up strosek ultra. Many things are "right" but they are all also changed in shape. Couldn't say an "Ultra" for sure without seeing it in the flesh though. Nice overall conversion but I do not like the back, especially the lights. They are somewhat bad placed and do not fit the shape. And the exhaustpipes are too oversized. IF it really were an ultra from the beginning, there has been a lot of cash conversioned out of that one I'm afraid. But nice otherwise...
You are of course correct. The ad indicates Jaquemond parts, which I have found are quality parts (but I don't have any Strosek parts to compare them to). For me, it looks very good overall as a widebody 928, even if not an authentic Strosek. Good observation about the tail lights alignment!

Oops wrong thread! But in the spirit of that silver Jaquemond wide body? It looks well done and a good value!

actually thought that GT might sell for more than the winning bid.

I think the Porsche market in general has softened a little bit in the last 6 months. I've seen a couple 987 Caymans sell for $5-$7 grand less than they should have on BAT and PcarMarket, as well as some 944s.
More rare models like 993 Turbos, 964 Turbos, 928 GTSs, 968 Club Sports, etc still seem strong.

The 95 GTS is a rare situation where it commands more than the early GTS's. When they consider rarity it is based off total # produced for the model. Just as Porsche doesn't consider a car to become a classic until it is 10 years out of production. The 993TT is far from rare the 964T is split based on the 2 different engines and several unique differences between the 2. However finding any honest clean examples these days is getting tougher. Lots of false claims and cars with hidden histories. Any car with unique color combos, options etc also are highly sought after.

Maybe "more rare" isn't the correct phrase and it' should be "more in demand", but I also should have been more specific when quoting those models as I was thinking about the 993 Turbo S and the 964 Turbo 3.6 as I was writing that.
