Fixed a 4-way switch with a replacement used button from garylewa - thanks Gary!
After fiddling to put it back together for some time, I realized that the issue was that pushing on the button moved the spindles out of line, and attempting to push on the outer casing moved the button to one side with the same result.
I made the following jig from two metal plates and two wood blocks:
By pushing the metal plates gently between the underside of the button and the casing cover I was able to wedge them securely. The switch base popped on in seconds!

Took out instrument cluster for incandescent to LED conversion
Last week, the rightmost LCD backlight for the information display in the instrument cluster burned out, joining the rightmost main backlight, which has been burned out for a couple of years. So... I decided it was finally time to pull the instrument cluster and replace all the incandescent bulbs with LEDs, which I had mostly already acquired (having done a bunch of research to figure out what I wanted to use, and also obtaining a lot of alternative LEDs so I could experiment).
Thanks to the threads "15 minute instrument pod removal update and instrument light bulbs for an OK price" and "Interior LED Changeover (uhm...Looooong)" (thanks Schocki and Rob Edwards) I was able to get the instrument pod out in under an hour and I had a pretty good idea of what I was up against.
I haven't completed this yet (I'll save the details for another thread when I'm done), but I've been taking a lot of photos along the way, thinking that high-res photos would be helpful to others tackling this task (I actually would have benefited from a few more details myself).
(Click photos to get substantially higher-resolution versions.)

Wow.
Brad,
Does that ever look sweet.
Amazing what you can accomplish when it's 40 below outside.....How did you get the MAF polished up like that?

Tonight I spent a couple hours on it
I mounted the fuel rails and started mounting the lines and air box brackets.
Malcolm sent me an adjustable FPR that 928MS sells so now that I see it I want to mount it on the Firewall some where so that I can set it without removing the filter box.
The lines will have to be re-thought-out. I see I need to 45 down from the rail so that the lines do not interfere with the air box
Tomorrow is another day
