Cleaned the accumulation of a Toronto winter from the garage and built a new shed for some of it. 928 relevance = now I can work on the car without stepping over things. Heck, I could even dance around it.

Took it for a drive, albeit a short one due to am a bit sore from wrenching yesterday, low on gas and didnt feel like driving to get gas with roads still slick.. But... was enough to be able to notice the smmmmoooooooooootttttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeesssss sssss after installing new motor mounts. OEM ones were approx 1 1/2 inch compressed as compared to the new ones. Cant wait for a spirited drive tomorrow (finally supposed to have a sunny day) to guage the difference with the urethane sway bar and delrin steering rack bushings.

Since this is "what you did to your 928 today" thread, put in new spark plug wires, red ones too! Gotta be good for at least another 10 HP being red right? <VBG>

Motor mounts under supervision of the Ray Master. A perfect day in NC to turn some wrenches. Surprisingly, no stripped bolts from PO's mechanical jobs. New mounts went in with only minor cussing and re-assembly went way faster than dis-assembly. That's the Ray Master in the pic. Note the motor lifts - he's a pro.

Job took just under 5 hours and I'm a rookie. I did ask for a hammer several times but was denied. TT is next, bring it on. Admittedly, without the Ray Master, I would not be so courageous. Life is Good, even better with Bin Laden dead!

Drove it 1200 miles round trip to storm damaged Birmingham to check on relatives. Long drive but the shark out performed my expectations.

New CPS install, then the bracket for the throttle cable pulley, with cleaned ground wires and the new cable for the throttle body.

The new Fuel Regulator is in Calgary so should be at the home PO today but I'm in biz meets/travel for a few days. Really after that theres nothing to stop full assembly then wheels will roll

The last couple of days, I have mounted back to the car all the wires except those from the engine compartment that I did not work on it. Then the central electric as well.

I deported from + battery, the cables to the dash to mount the battery switch.
I have ordred to Roger new parts for this car track (short shifter)
Also, for my 928 drive that is stopped for nearly a year, I finally ordered a timing belt kit in order to make re rolling this summer.

A+

I took pictures of the before/after height of the steering rack when I put Roger's Delrin bushings in the rack, and noticed that it lifted the rack maybe 1/4" on the bolts. That was enough to change the toe measurement and require a little adjustment to re-center the wheel. For most cars, raising the rack in the bushings causes a smidge more toe-in, for those same 'most cars' a good thing. Still it's worth checking.
