Brand new, never been on a car before..no heat soak cycles...it's a tight fit though...I had to push the passenger side plenum on further to get it to fit and suspect I should do that with drivers' side but FINALLY... Thank you Roger and the crew at 928SRus!

YOUR 12 YEAR REIGN OF TERROR IS OVER! I BANISH THEE!!! ......to the corner of the garage cause I can't throw anything away....

The wrap extends past the end of the tube farther on passenger side and my OCD is going nuts right now and threatening to make me do something....

It should be a lot faster now shouldn't it?

Ansa muffler restored and altered to fit new stainless endpipes, new front mount flanges and new suspension mount. The endpipes obviously mounts farther in and secures with M6 hexbolts. I will mount these last when everything is on the car. As you can see in the first picture the big patch is in the corner and goes around down to the seamweld where it was much bigger. 35-year old dirty metal gave me quite a hard time both with the tig-welder and the mig-welder. As you can see the welds look "spotty" and not linear. I was faced several times with the metal just "sparkled" away, and you had to VERY carefully with low amps mend the holes that formed...... I thought I cleaned every surface good too but it doesn't help every time...

So here we have the "new" puzzle. Cleaned "Bischoff" stainless middle pipe and middle-muffler with new flanges. It looks like an accordion with bumps but it is structually sound and no damage inside. The short middle pipes was timeconsuming to make, not welding but measuring and testmounting many times. It is really cramped under the rear suspension subframe, now I understand why the original pipes look like they've been beaten to scrap with a hammer. The flow will be increased a bit with my pipes, no restrictions there...

Similar to mine although I had to let new sheet metal in. I think this is the 3rd resto of this particular system.
Added new " Ansa" sticker as well.

Massively impressed with this, a bit blurry pictures but the muffler looks like new, very good work! I didn't want to cut mine apart in order to keep originality close, but in retrospect maybe I should have. I just hate to leave welds that may be structually sound but looks like peas and carrots.. The original muffler didn't fit when they converted my car to a Strosek in 1987-89. The widebody and lip round the back made the fitment of the muffler a hassle which they made an "easy low fix" of. I have the actual car magazine "Bilsport" from 1989 when they did a story about my car and a 911, that was both converted to Strosek's. In the pictures you can see that the muffler hangs to low on my car even when they built it. The Strosek-conversion was made really good in most of the places but the fitment of the muffler was not done well. My Ansa which were added later was even worse fitted. The pipes were cut, very ugly clamped and welded together. The mounts was extended down + sideways and everything was too low. The pipes under the subframe was also compressed half-flat because of the low fitment and roadbumps. As you can understand it was a no brainer - Remove, cut and rebuild everything...

Here is a cut-out of the story in "Bilsport". As you can see the muffler hangs too low and is also tilted back-down... not good looking...

Sorry for the clarity issue, this is the only other I have.
Thanks for the comment.

Custom exhaust finally installed... Transaxle hanger and clamp also refurbished. It is a bit of a hassle to do yourself with the car on stands. But you just have to start it up.... and every hard hour is instantly forgotten!

With the exception of the hard lines I replaced all of the clutch hydraulics.. Not such a terrible job, a bit fiddly getting the master cylinder in place, but using the "string" trick it was pretty easy.. No cutting required.

Replaced to drivers door arrester... Been meaning to do that for decades, literally...

Changing sparkplugs and replacement of the clutch releasefork bushing. Amazed how simple it was to replace the bushing. With the bellhousing and slave removed it was a real breeze. Just some light polishing of the ball and then pop it back...

Started the '78 for the first time in months, and drove 45 miles to a window tint shop, where they installed "clear" ceramic tint on all the glass. It should really cut down on the heat inside and also help prevent fading of the fabric.
I'm really trying to keep the dash & pod crack-free and preserve the pasha!

Installed my new undertray. The aluminum undertray solution makes me feel much more comfortable after nearly putting a hole in my oil pan. Something everyone should consider IMO.

Easy to fit. I never liked those old covers.

Looks great! Where did you get the undertray solution?
