ABS light was coming on at startup. Pulled the relay and fuse, sanded the pins. Opened the relay, sanded the contacts with a tiny piece of sandpaper. Put back together, no light!

A/C would heat immediately unless the slider was at 65 degrees. Pulled connector at outside sensor. Sensor ohmedout ok. Cleaned contacts with a skinny rasp and electronic spray cleaner. Put back together, tested A/C, worked perfect!

Finished up t/belt and water pump, new temp II, fresh coolant, and then I drove it like I stol' it.

Refitted the newly powdercoated cam covers to the GTS. The passenger side is a bear, but wow, do they look good! Pictures will be forthcoming when the intake is reinstalled.

Pads and covers, gaskets and seals, injectors, hoses, sensors Hey she made the 100k milestone. Gotta celebrate with something. Truth be known, the car is running so well I hate to disturb anything.

Rob Edwards 'loaned' me a set of covers and intake manifold a couple years ago. Had them PC'd and they've been here since. All the parts and pieces are here, from Roger from before the OCI in 2009. Meanwhile, Rob is on home holiday this weekend and volunteered to help with the intake swap. Figured the least I could do is have the cam covers and fuel lines changed out before he gets here on Saturday. It's a neighborly thing to do...

GB is working on Rob's ready-for-prime-time oil and fumes management system. I suspect that the 'spare' set of cam covers will play into that somehow. Just a suspicion though, no facts or other reasons to believe anything.

The inside of the cam box looks brand new even with 100k on the engine. Cams look like new, no oil staining or discoloration anywhere. The gaskets on the cam covers are reusable. Nothing crispy at all. I'm very pleasantly suprised. That's the passenger side only so far. No telling what the driver's side looks like.

Changed the air system some.Put 22 degree angle tubes up along the sides and moved the filters out back.
The angle tubes give more clearance on the passenger side next to the fuel line.

Unfortunately, the years are adding up and my stance isn't as rock-steady as it used to be, so I've decided to compensate a bit for the age factor

Also, it must be worth at least +10HP, wouldn't you agree ?

On my 81, Put everything back on the top end, completed the complete re-wiring on the 14 pin harness, started it right up, --and --- spent over an hour getting the fuel leak at the cold start valve banjo joint to finally stop - about 3 sets of copper compression washers later.
Just a word of caution, if you do need to replace the 14 pin plug as I did, keep the original cap. The new top caps supplied in some 'kits' do not fit if you use 14g wire to do the rewire - the cap in the kits has a much lower profile, and hence a much smaller cable trough to get the wires into.
Now just need to start up in the morning and recheck for leaks -

Bolted on the hood.
Jumped in and drove 350 miles to NJ

Installed the passenger side cam cover three times today. Hopefully third time is a charm. I LOVE changing cam covers...

Maybe I'll get to work on the other side tomorrow. It's supposed to be easier-- maybe I'll only have to do it a couple times. That would definitely be 'easier'.
