Ben is AWESOME! I need him to do my '95 intake at some point...it looks like HELL! Speaking of which... The '95 went to my local 928 master mechanic and got a few things taken care of this week (pick it up tomorrow...and drop off the S4): Hood release cable and handle needed fixing, A/C needed fixing and charging, stupid aftermarket alarm REMOVED (in FULL...ALL WIRING!), headlights properly installed and adjusted (the body shop didn't get this right), new oil, ummmm...some other things I am forgetting right now as well. Good week for the GTS though!

S4 will get its leaky trans taken care of.

I applied XPEL protection (www.xpel.com) to my headlights, driving lights and turn signals a few days ago. You can still see some cloudiness in the lower portion of the driving light. This is supposed to dissipate within two weeks - it already has to large degree.

The turn signal has some air trapped due to the raised lettering (Bosch, DOT, etc.) I may remove it due to this, as the turn signal is relatively cheap to replace if it becomes damaged.

This purchase was prompted by my desire to protect my investment in new driving lights. Those puppies aren't cheap!

Pulled out the old JVC CD receiver and all the junk wiring that went with it. Installed a new Alpine 45W amp in the stock location and did all the wiring of the new head unit. Tomorrow will be new speaker cables from the new amp to the speakers and system commissioning. Maybe I'll spring for some new Hans speakers for X-mas.

Default one down ...one to go

Cleaned the inner wheel well tonight on the "new to me 24K miles GT". The previous owner looks to have sprayed aftermarket undercoating over the cosmoline, what a mess. First picture is drivers side showing what they looked like. Second is passenger side cleaned up. I will tackle the drivers side tomorrow.

do you think it's too red!!!

+1, that looks really great. A than a few threads over the years on what to use on Cosmoline, dirt, grease etc. Whenever I see a recent well cleaned wheel well I hopefully expect to hear there is some new product that works quickly and easily.

Default Wheel well cleaner

There was spray on aftermarket undercoating over the cosmoline. I used Turtle Wax " Bug and Tar" remover. I sprayed on and left on for about 10 minutes, then used a brass brush, (you can find them at home depot or lowes in the welding dept). The brass brush cuts thru the gunk, but doesn't scratch the paint. The bug and tar really did a good job of making the undercoating and cosmoline get pretty soft.

Followed up with one of the spray on washes and wiped down to get all residual off, and then hit it with spray on wax and wipe. I then put some rubber conditioner spray on rubber parts....voila..
