60 today, no wind, wife shopping. So I decided to go to Chick Fil A for lunch.... 2 towns over.

Noticed today I think for the first time how there is a dramatic change in this car at about 2900 RPM. Below there it's a little loud, some vibrations here and there, just not real smooth.

At 2900 however it changes completely. Noise is less, engine sounds better, vibrations stop. A real shame it can't be driven in that range all the time here.

One quick trip to 145 just because this guy in a BMW328 thought he needed to test me, and then got my sammich.

Also had dash lights go off when lights were on, played with dimmer and all right now.

Almost ready to put her away for the winter, hopefully will get a couple more days to be able to drive it.
Did you trash the old radar detector? Is it still operational? I have an under-bumper detector with a under-dash control box that just bit the bullet - everything checks out, but the detector stopped picking up X, K & Ka bands - not sure why. Would like to replace it if your not using your old one! PM me if you'd like to sell it...

Said good night for this year. It's got company in my brother's old Saleen.

Now onto the 1/2 price sales for next season.

Picked it up from a shop, drove it on some errands. Noticed moderate fuel leak from fuel pump area.

Installed two chin spoiler protection plates from 928 Motorsports. I first removed the spoiler to get more room to work. Since it was off I also cleaned it up, and noticed that the underside had quite a few blue paint scrapes. I'm guessing the original owner had a handicapped parking placard.

The new protection plates are really beefy. At the end of the job they came in handy for raising the car with the floor jack, letting me remove the jack stands.

Cool

I pulled her out of her heated cocoon (garage), removed the crap VDO Dayton ms4300 **** nav radio that I had purchased without being informed that said **** nab was no longer in operation, as Siemens no longer supported it and I then installed a Becker be7945 Traffic Pro combined Sat nab/radio/cd changer. It totally changed the look of the dashboard and the sound is so rich, even from the original speakers. Got a set of Rockford fosgate speakers to go in (you Yankees did somethings right (LOL)).

We then took her for a spin around the really posh part of North London (not Ontario) where footballers(soccer players) live, as do bankers and old monied people.......

We then got onto the motorway and had a lovely cruise until we got to the M25 motorway ( the largest revolving car park in the world), we then went for a Starbucks (another American great) and then drove home. It was superb, I am so deliriously happy with my motor.

I am still looking for a later model clock, such as in a GT or GTS to improve my dashboard even further. If anyone knows of any places in London to get one, please let me know.

Happy driving.

After 18,827 miles, I had to replace my two front Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires because of "chunking". Brandon Tucker, the Discount Tire Technician called Michelin and who gave me a 75% credit toward a new pair of tires. Apparently Michelin is aware of this problem. Brandon "Road Force Balanced" the tires and I was out the door for $93.50. Drove to the warehouse where I detailed a beautiful black Mercedes E550 then drove the long way home. I've never owned a better automobile ... and it's 25 years old!

Installed a Pklutch that I won at 3rd Coast compliments of 928sRus. I like the new feel in the shifting effort and now it's on to a much needed short shifter.
Thanks 928sRus for the great prize!

Measured up the front and rear drop links so I can have some custom adjustable ones made. Removed the original cats/exhaust.

Called AAA to replace the cell that's now gone flat. It's theirs, less than 36mo old, so free.

Thankfully I'm in a Carl's Jr parking lot to provide shelter and energy during the many hours wait.

I drove the snot out of the car yesterday on a 30+ car Porsche Run (3 928's!) and then put it in a car show today (had no expectation of winning---all entry fees went to Hurricane Sandy victims) and then drove home...fast...really fast...allegedly.

FUN!
