Smile on the road again

finished re-wiring the 14 plug connector, had to cut back the wires about 6" to get to good copper. Fired up the '83 euro and roared down the road for a bit. It looks like I'll be in the market for a wire harness in the near future, now I just have to find one. "Some sharks do 150, some do 149, If I can make mine run at all I think I'm doing fine"

Took the passenger door panel off to resolve a rattle.

And after 23 years, finally repaired the door lock ****. I guess it was installed without regards to actually connecting to the lock rod!

So, no rattle. And the door locks all work, vacuum actuation and all!

Removed power front seats today. Will install the SPARCOs soon. Found 'lost' sunglasses between passenger front seat and console hump. Woot!

I pulled and replaced the front main seal. Took about 4 hours.
Thanks to Rob Edwards for the loan of the Porsche 9125 seal installation tool. Made it fool proof!
Thanks to Sean Ratts for the advice prior to installation.

great group drive Saturday with the Buckeyelandsharks club. in addition to the sharks in this pic, we had a few other sharks but they did not come to this spot for final pics with the great white shark on the billboard sign. just could not resist this pic opportunity.

Worked on center console plastic repair. Meathead PO must have missed a few screws that were holding the console in place so he just ripped it out. The top 2 screws that fasten the top of the console to the dash had broken all plastic on top of console which meant air was blowing into dash rather than into cabin. I picked up some tin sheets and pop riveted formed plates over the holes. The plates with liberal all weather caulking seem to work. The pics are sketchy and I still need to drill mounting holes on top of console. Also replaced a broken plastic flange.

Getting everything prepped to install a turbo on an 82 (with 4.7L now).

Wasnt able to baseline today. Should be able to do so tomorrow.
Some of the exhaust is getting ceramic coated, and manifolds will be converted to V-band!

Changed oil and found this stuck to the oil plug magnet:

only a year since the cams/springs/spring cups were installed

also now the oil hose going from oil cooler to oil filter is leaking.

Is that part of a valve spring?

Please post your findings in a new thread, I think there was another similar failure from the same group buy.

I just installed my set and am now concerned, what are you running for cams?
