He just responded to my email. He said he'll get the info to me as soon as possible. He told me that he doesn't drive the car much andwants someone who can drive and enjoy it as they were meant to be driven and I can do that!

I'll let you guys know the details as they come in.

EDIT: He's gonna try to get me that info this weekend.

Nifty 944 Admiral! I guess a 951 though. Sounds like hotel fun! Bring it to the lobby and annoy guests from afar.

I just read everything as I am looking for a 944 also. I'm in the Bay Area, Ca. so they are plentiful, but finding one with the combination of all maintenance and looks, at an affordable price is tough.

I may wait and look for a 968. Does it also have the 50/50 weight distribution? When reading about them, their handling is almost never referenced.

The 968 does have the bigger engine(3.0L 968 vs. 2.5L 944) so it has more power and torque standard. It's also about 10 years newer than just about any 944 you can find unless it's a 944S2.

I'm not sure how they handle so I cannot tell you much about that, but I'm sure someone hear could chime in and help.

The 968's suspension is identical to a late 944 as far as I know, besides better caster mounts. As far as I know.

The 968 weighs 3000lb vs the 944's 2800/2900. Still almost exactly 50/50.

Probably handles exactly the same, or negligibly different if anything. With the added power, I bet they're more fun to drive!

The one I'm looking at is an '84; the DME relay location is different on an early car.

Od, I don't say this often, but gtfo and don't post things to convince Karl out of a 944 when you aren't even following the conversation.

people love to say that most of the cars are neglected. but the truth is–the Richter/magnitude scale also applies to cars: even the radiator hoses, show signs of added punishment; and despite the timing systems needing updates every 3~5 years, it's not a deal-breaker....

yet, with twenty million VW/Audi/Porsche/BMWs built with 4 cylinders running Bosch injection/engine management for the last 35 years, we're stuck with few options for fresh stand-alone wiring harness/engine management/MAF/sensors/AND no alarms, ect.....

the 968 electrical systems are spotless.... yes, there's some pricey items in the bay... but, if the 944s came with well-designed electrical circuits attached to the motors, or easy to troubleshoot harness – would we be having these no-start threads?

I'll leave the rotting gas tanks and crusty fuel lines for another day–

but is this a fair question?

when we DO have a no start, do we also hold the option to take it to the dealer (the ******** who built and over-charged for the cars) — and have it back the next day for a couple few hundred dollars??

and can I post the other 1,364 of these...... https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...art-issue.html

That linked thread has nothing to do with general 944 ownership or maintenance

Admiralkhole and everyone else, the guy was kind enough to take the car out today and take a couple pictures for me. I also got a picture of the option code sticker which I think I translated correctly:

LM3A - India Red?(I thought it was Guards Red)

M404 - front and rear sway bars
M410 - sports seats seat/backrest cloth/leatherette
M425 - rear window wiper
M431 - 4 spoke leather 363 mm stressing wheel
M454 - cruise control
M650 - removable sun roof

Is there anything else that can be gathered from this sticker?(Interior color? I don't know what it is as I haven't got a pic of that. Production number? ect.)

India red is the same as Guards red more or less, on late cars they renamed the color... just what I read somewhere on here.
