Couple things I thought worked really well (that I learned about reading here):

1) With all of the new hydraulic parts and hoses, I flushed first with denatured
alcohol. It's cheaper than flushing with brake fluid, and since it's a clear liquid,
you can see all the crud that comes out and when it's all clean.

2) Motive power bleeder. I used it dry for all flushing & bleeding. Super easy.

put new shoes all around 225's up front, 255's out back. Took off 235's up front, and 295's (they were rather small) off back. nice to be back on the road.

Fixed the windshield washer system.

The old pump wasn't making any sort of noise when activated, and the tips had become brittle and broken off in the old tubing.

The washer reservoir had developed a lovely I mean disgusting blackish sludge.
No, I didn't drink it, but that's approximately the color it came out. I filled the tank with water and drained it seven times before I thought enough of the nastiness was gone for the pump to function without pulling up too much Dagobah-grade gunk.

The replacement of the hoses went smoothly enough, with one branch of the plastic T-junction that sits on top of the fluid reservoir breaking slightly (should have gone ahead and ordered a new one ), but leaving enough solid plastic for the hose to grip to. The new pump seems a bit enthusiastic, or perhaps I need to figure out some way to aim the washer nozzles lower. The right side seems slightly plugged, but it just means it sprays on the windshield and not the roof/hatch.

Note to self: don't use the system with the sunroof out. Unless I'm going really fast. "Sorry officer, but I need to achieve 3 digit speed in order for the washer fluid to hit the window instead of my rear seat." I don't think there's much chance of that line working...

hi folks, at night my voltmeter dips below 12 and the car starts to shut down. turn lights off and it climbs above 12 and it is fine. Is this a battery issue, alternator issue? or?

Could be either, but those symptoms indicate an alternator issue more than a battery problem.

However, the first thing you should always do when confronted with an electrical problem on a 944 is to check/clean your grounds. A poor chassis ground could certainly interfere with proper charging. Plus, this is free aside from time and elbow grease. Sand the ground points to remove corrosion, apply some dielectric grease to slow future corrosion, and retighten.

I remember having to grease my shaft pretty thoroughly. After that, it slid right in.

Yessir, not my finest work

I actually used a part very similar to that square adapter plate... only flipped around and bolted to the stock airbox. 40mm bolts, with nyloc nuts so nothing comes loose in there.

I ordered one of these, only 4" long and 2.75" diameter:

http://www.bellengineering.net/image...e/P4140024.JPG

This has provisions for the IAT (3/8" NPT) and will install into the J-tube the same as the AFM. Still waiting for arrival

Then a simple 70mm ID silicone coupler to join the airbox-flange-thing to the IAT tube: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/AUTOF...023928102.html

Also in the mail.

Added a 0 to 60 psi fuel gauge to the fuel rail. Part of my diagnostic tools as I put the car back together. Need to know if the fuel pump is working correctly. Had a bad injector and ordered a new replacement. Powered up the fuel pump and checked for leaks on all my new fuel line fittings. Needed to be sure before replacing the pax side fender liner. Replaced the sway bar bushings and new hardware on the hangers. Almost finished with re-assembly of all of the engine components along with rebuilt turbo, engine sensors and vacuum lines. Putting turbo motors back together isn't an easy overnight job. :P

Just came back from another epic driving experience.
About 150km away from home starts this 30km long road connecting the City of Resita with the small mining town of Anina.
The road is all corners, some of them with their climbs and drops remind me of the Ring...but much more beauty to bee seen here.
