Took my road bike to a trailhead. It's nice being able to fit all parts of a bike in the hatch without having to fuss around with roof racks or a hitch. It's easier to squeeze the bike in than my old jetta with the rear seats folded down. (Not to mention a hell of a lot more fun to drive on the way...)

Thank you, i think red and black is a good match on the GTS phat *** as well. A few years ago I have seen a 951 with black matte CUP2s like i use now and that got me inspired. Now using 9" rims allaround with same size tires.

Good luck with the plugs, Karl..I've got to drill out my fill plug as it is firmly embedded, not stuck, in the Aluminum trans case. I've tried all types of penetrants, hex bits, pipe wrenches, heat , punches and chisels. Gotta get serious about it now..Working also on changing over the 6 mm seat rail bolts to 8mm. Welding on an additional bracket to the rear of the existing brackets so I can get in the extra seat bolt..giving me 6 instead of 4..I will check the parts car to see if the bolts just take a captive nut or if there is a nut plate under the existing bracket..Hoping for the latter to I can just drill & tap it and be done with it. Otherwise..a longer project than anticipated...and more involved..Tips anyone? Thanks

Just came back from another epic driving experience.
About 150km away from home starts this 30km long road connecting the City of Resita with the small mining town of Anina.
The road is all corners, some of them with their climbs and drops remind me of the Ring...but much more beauty to bee seen here.

Brakes
Still messing about with my brake upgrade. Made the classic mistake of swapping left and right side calipers. Corrected that, and flipped the bleeder valves and crossover pipe from top to bottom.
Then realized crossover pipers were contacting the inside of the wheel, so those had to swapped left to right.
Also updated master cylinder. Now trying to bleed - lots of air in system after all of that.

Made an interesting discovery when troubleshooting why my pop-ups stopped working. The fuse (#1 on upper panel) blew because I was careless about unplugging the battery but even with a new fuse they wouldn't work. I was checking for 12v at the fuse itself and when I probed it, there was a spark and the lights retracted. Thinking "maybe the fuse panel itself is damaged" but when I pulled the fuse, I noticed the ends were slightly corroded from sitting around in humidity. Sure enough polishing the ends restored functionality.
So lesson learned on checking all contacts, even on "new" parts.

had a minor off-road excursion while attacking one of the canyons in west LA county. 3 wheels in the dirt, front driver's wheel half-buried. i killed a mile-marker...and kept a trophy.
luckily within a few minutes the cavalry arrived (on their way to an actual accident further down the road), and a guy in a raptor pulled me out of the ditch.
hard to see in the pictures, but if the car had gone another foot or 2 to the left, it would be nose-first in a 15-foot hole.
this was a very tight right hand turn with a dip in the middle...there were parts from several other cars/motorcycles scattered around where i ended up. there was a corvette fiberglass fender underneath my car at this point, and a motorcycle mirror...this corner claims vehicles...but not mine!
last picture shows the full extent of the damage done, should clean up ok. no mechanical damage whatsoever, not even broken fog lights.

Hope that the minor valence work will make it come out OK. Glad you weren't hurt. On another note, I removed the old rear shocks from the car today, so I can install some Konis that I got from Dimi a while back. Cleaning up the hardware and installing new locknuts etc...Anyone know where I could source 12 mmX1.5 Stainless bolts? Last ones I could find were from ARP and were pricey! Beautiful--polished and all but trying to keep the cost down..to more reasonable levels.. Thanks.

For metric hardware, local Fastenal usually stocks them. If not, Lowes. Although someone chime in if their 8.8 bolts are inferior quality than say, Fastenal.
