What did you do to your 924/944 today

Weather changes means playing with the tune. No matter, took the woman out for a nice cruise around town for a steakburger and a beer. Resealed the passenger side tail light (which was full of water) and cleaned the engine bay.

took it to the dyno again to see if my new-fangled intake did anything - it did not.
still at 135whp. but was able to pull out a few degrees of timing at the top end to kill pinging without any loss of power - a plus to me.
leaned out the midrange a hair to pick up torque in an intake-tuning dip...running great. car needs a break now!
next time, will advance the cam from +2 to +4 advance and see if there's more power. if there is...maybe try +7 or +9? getting wary of revving the thing beyond the 5000s range, no real power up there and i've got 31 year old rod bolts hanging on for dear life.
i think i will build my supercharged engine to be a 1000-5000 rpm tow-truck.

Got it back from a 9 day trip to the bodyshop.
Opted not to have the front bumper painted because I scrape it on crap all the time, but now I kinda regret that decision.

Three Wheelin'
The paint looks wet and the wheels are mirrors. Give me 5 years and my car will be there!
Just use some touch-up paint on the key areas and your bumper will be improved.

Decided to put the E-brake handle from my '89 parts car on the '83. looks like it will all bolt up. I like the leather cover, and I cleaned it up and Lexol'ed the boot. Also buffed parts for the switch and cleaned up the switch itself. Will paint those parts today. TT bearings..next week... hopefully that will finish that up and the install will be soon! YAY!

Please report back on the fit! I don't feel the need to swap a whole early interior to late style, but the parking brake has always seemed kind of 'unfinished' or something on the early one.

The late e-brake handle indeed bolts right up, have one in my 83.
However you have to adjust the cable a little using the nut on the anchor, when you see it, it will be obvious. The late handle feels a lot nicer IMO.

over the long weekend...
- replaced all 4 shocks, the old ones were 10 years old and totally blown
- resealed the windshield to fix a leak
- repaired corroded/cracked alternator wire
- installed slim radiator fan and built shroud for it
- installed LED bars behind the bumper to see how they work as headlights...just drove 150 miles this morning with them and they work well. i had to take this picture at an angle because they are super bright head-on.
