My friends and I had our 944s on display at an '80s party last night! And I got a stormtrooper to pose with my car too! I'm from the mid '90s, but the '80s sure looked to be a hell of a decade!
Good to hear, Joey! I'll bring mine right on over! LOL! Mine is still all over the garage. Last 3 weeks have been spent on building/rebuilding a dang chicken coop! ARRRGGGGHH!
I did lots of things this past weekend to my new-to-me 1987 944 NA:
1. Washed and de-stickered the car
2. Had a professional dent removal guy come and make the panels smooth again
3. Detailed the car with an assortment of Chemical Guys stuff geared to black paint
4. Changed the steering wheel back to a stock 4-spoke Porsche wheel.
Next up is changing the shift boot back to stock, replacing the worn hatch shocks (have a pair ready to go), replace all the wiper blades (ditto), maybe fiddle with the stereo system a bit...

The car looks excellent! How bad were the dents beforehand, and were there any that the PDR guy was unable to work out? My 944 has a bunch of dings that I would love to have smoothed, and a couple that are worse than dings.
My PDR guy (Gary Morini of Bodysmooth in NJ) did a great job, and pretty much got to everything. After really detailing it I noticed a couple of additional odds and ends, so I may have him back to work on those, but I don't want to become too crazy about it. The point of this car is to enjoy it and not be afraid to take places (which I already am!). There were a bunch to start with...easily ten of them in various shapes, sizes and locations. Not a whole lot of paint damage, so they seemed like "softer" dents rather than SUV-style dings.
Ok so friend and myself replaced 4 spark plug and wires, rotor, dist cap and coil wire.
Helpful to have 2 people, a couple of long surgical clamps, pliers and good lite.
Rotor from dealer came with extension piece not needed on 1986 944. It comes off with a little force applied. Dist cap no issues. Routing plug wires in tight spaces is an issue. Just cut off the ends once you know which plug and cap attachment to go to. Routing new plugs is helped by using surgical clamps to grasp the end. All wires were sourced from dealer.
The plastic cover covering the coil is a PITA to get off and even a bigger PITA to properly get back on. Plugs come out and in with no issues. 90 min job and car runs better
