what size was the socket? 34mm or 36mm?
Sorry I did not note what size the nut is. I use a cheapy 3/4 drive socket set from Harbor Freight. I think it was $49 for the set 19-38mm or something like that with a ratchet and breaker bar. I really was expecting the socket or bar to break but after a couple "pops", the nut broke free.

*It may be worth noting that I did this after a 2hour long drive to the nut and axle was quite heated when I loosened it.

Installed a new FPR and Damper. I've been getting black smoke at full throttle, soot in the exhaust, and MPG has been dropping pretty steady from 31 mpg when I bought the car to about 24 now. Hopefully it will improve.

Also installed a LR vacuum hose kit to go with the new FPR and damper. Had to go with "Go Fast" red to match the red magnacore plug wires.

This is all well and good, but the car is still down due to me having to wait for my waterpump and goodies to ship :-( (Paragon always ships fast though ..... Jason is always on the ball)

Drove the crap out of it today. Must have wasted about half a tank of gas, just moseying around town. Some of it was time spent out cruising with the weekend crowd. Also used it to pick up some chicks, but I got bored with them so I then used it to entertain myself once more.

Did some random jobs in preparation for installing the replacement cylinder head next weekend....I hope. Figured out why my valve cover leaked oil through the plugs, o-rings has basically turned into plastic.
