Test fit some bolt-on spacers and 17" Cup I wheels. Fitment is like a magical unicorn blowing bubbles, so I'll buy those spacers tomorrow and get started on painting the wheels. woohoo!

i think you should give van a ping lol

drove the 944 without any carpets or insulation, no center console and only one seat. wasnt actually too loud, the louder exhaust pulses were kinda neat. had the top half of my console dangling by the 2 AC control wires as it was f*ckin hot today

WHHHIIINNNEEEE..WOOOOSSHH...WHIINNNEE...WOOSH....WEEEEEEEEE

I have it set to 13PSI max in 4th, hits 12 in 3rd, 10 in 1st and second, and starts making boost around 2500 RPMs.. I SOOOO want a bigger displacement turbo, but I so don't want to have to wait for the fun to start.... I'll stick to fresher 26-6 for a while, until I get bored with it...

I think I figured out what my boost flutter problem has been, I have A LOT of lateral play in the turbo, I believe I am seeing the compressor stall at 11+ psi and it gets worse at WOT than part throttle... I'm hopeful the newish turbo I bought will be here this week, maybe next.... then the fun part of that exchange comes... I also need to get on the fuel maps... above 80% throttle is dropping my AFR to 10.5-11 below 80% I am at 12.5-13..14.7 at idle to 50% then it drops down a little and drops like a rock at WOT... need to order MaxTune and an Ostrich...

john - talk to sid (blown944) about anti-lag...you can have full boost basically immediately so that bigger turbo wont be slowing you down below 4000RPM

I replaced a missing seal to my cab top today. Although it looks/sounds easy it took me about 40 minutes to get it on correct. I have learned the hard way that any time I work with plastic or rubber on a 20 year old car I need to go slow. At least my otherwise perfect top now looks awesome and the wind noise is gone away when the top is up :-)

Incidentally, also had to clean up large oil spill on driveway.

don't use a Bosche oil filter... i'm pretty sure all the bosche filters for the 944 have no anti-drain valve which is required.

get a Mann or mahle filter which is like 6bucks or so and much better.

also pretty sure engine "treatments" are a waste of money.

Let's see, it's been down quite a while:

complete reseal of upper and lower balance shaft housings
replace oil pan gasket
replace oil sump seal
remove exhaust manifold, have cracks in 1/4 welded, bead blast all and high temp black paint
replace front crankshaft seals and front balance shaft seals
replace timing belt
replace water pump belt
replace gasket at rear of cam housing
replace water control valve

I think that's enough for a while -
