Finally! Success! Today I decided to try this again, but I bought a new 32gb SD card and a new SD card reader. Extracted the AIO software to the Fat32 card, put it in the SD slot and it went through the process. This time the Nav and Map buttons showed up and android auto worked upon plugging my phone in. Even though previously the car showed it had no maps during earlier attempts, it appears to have a 2021/2022 map already loaded. Pumped to use waze and android auto for my 90 mile drive to autocross tomorrow! Thanks everyone for the help.

I can't get the SD card to run. It's a brand new 64gb card. Formatted it to Fat32. Downloaded the AIO file to my computer. Then unzipped it directly to the SD card. Inserted in the car. Waited about 2 min, nothing happened. Put SD card back in my laptop and erased it. Then took the downloaded AIO file and copied it to the SD card. Then unzipped it again directly onto the SD card. Other than the zipped file and unzipped file, there is nothing else on the card. Inserted it into the car and nothing. Once I insert it, on the PCM screen it says SD card installed so it's seeing the card but the update isn't running. Any thoughts?

What is the exact name of the AIO file that you are trying? The 'only' thing on the card should be the unzipped files, nothing else. What year of 718, OEM NAV or not, CP or not?

I can grab a 32 card if needed. When I got the 64gb it wouldn't format into FAT 32 so I downloaded MiniTool Partition Wizard and was able to format into FAT32, but single 64gb partition. I just repartitioned it to a 30gb. I'll unzip the files to it and see if it will work when I get home tonight.
Downloaded MH12_US-POG11_K5186_1_MU1476_AIO_20220723.7z
I tried it first with only the unzipped files and it didn't work. Then I thought maybe I need the zipped file on the SD card along with the unzipped.
It's a 2017 718 Base with Carplay but no navigation.

Once extracted, check this file name, there should be no "_" in front of Swdlautorun

You can manually kick off the upgrade via the PCM screen as well, see post #2 in this thread.

I would also try a different brand for your SD card. I don’t remember which brand but one time it would not run on a car I was coding. The last few cars I helped code, I used Amazon Basic brand without any issue.

Also, I have had trouble with MicroSD cards in adapters, both for code loads and map Database loads, it wasn't the card but a faulty adapter.
