It's Sunday, Mt Wellington, waiting for an email from them confirming my time.

Did a few seasons of karting, kt100 is probably the best bang for buck, though it's a very hard ? to get into. People aren't the friendliest and everyone acts it's like F1.
I'd love to see a social karting club where it's about fun not 1/4 of psi. There are some nice people don't get me wrong, could say it's a like a PCNZ meeting haha.

A few of us went to the same event last time they held it. Good for a taster, but it didn't grab me as a potential sport. Potentially quite expensive to be competitive and I was told that its a long period until you are competitive. In the end 2k cup made more sense. I just have to travel futher.

I hear you, just trying to gain experience and avoid cheque book racing at this stage, not fussed where I sit in the pack, it's more a learning experience, want something social I can head along to every couple of months.

If i'm committed to motorsport the right opportunity will be else ware.

That was essentially what I was looking to do. The kart could hang out at the back of my garage and go in the back of the Cayenne for a quick practice on the weekend when comps weren't on. The 2k cup option gave the race experience and social side with a shared cost. I've actually come to value the social side as much as the driving. I'm not sure what karting is like for the older guys. Much of what I saw on the test day was fathers and sons.

Karting is great if you don't mind being at the back of the pack. It gets very spendy and cut-throat if you want to move forward from there.

It's a great rush though and every bit as competitive as car racing. Way more expensive than your average 2k campaign though.

I used to compete in my early teens, and a couple of years back did an article on the sport and Daniel Bray:

Nice article. Karting is one of those sports that doesn't quite look as impressive as it actually is but for anyone that hasn't tried the proper thing, you really should give it a go as it is massive fun and a great test of skill too.

Pel, I called KartSport Mt Wellington today but they reckon they've moved the Have-a-Go day back to the 2nd of August, which is out for me.

Working on Meremere too guys.

I have driven this car. It's very well sorted and wants for nothing.

Be interesting to see how quickly it moves.

Only thing against it is the milage.....??

It's not a cheapie car, so good test of strength for the manual 993 Market?

James - you might be losing your back-up buyer if he see's this??
