...first reviews are out. Very very firm on road and heavy clutch as expected. Definitely not a touring car but we knew that. Great track car and targa tho!!!...

Phil, the spoiler rams got stuck just before that photo, I was aware it was a weak point on the car. Have your ones played up before?
The rams end up leaking, and the sensor is dodgy, and not an easy amateur job. I know a few have decommissioned the sensor and had the foil locked up.
My sender keeps suggesting a fault but the rams are working fine, altho I know I have lost a little fluid out of one. The oil pressure sensor is another weak link too.. a common fault apparently

I find myself visiting the 996 gt forum more and more. I am secretly lusting after a gt car of that era. When I sit down to think about it and try to rationalize it just doesn't add up having more than one fun car. However, I just couldn't part with Mr Black. This is a disease and I am confessing to the afflicted. They say the first step to recovery is to admit the problem

Tony bought them from Chris M. Lovely they are.

For track wheels go light and strong. I like the black ones too but really colour doesn't matter in that environment other than the brake dust is less noticeable on black

I don't know how much time to be spent in Germany as most are planning to base themselves for a good bit of time in Provence. Others can chime in here. Personally I am keen to try to arrange at least a day at Nurburgring and/or Spa. (one or both). sounds like you are the perfect contact to advise us on options and details for this. Trackday options - with and without own cars, advance booking timeframes required costs etc

Which city are you based? Will you be back in NZ before then? Glad you posted, cheers
Can't wait for this trip and like Graeme I'd love to make it to both Ring & Spa. Have done 2 tours of Germany now in the past 3 years - absolutely love the place. The standard of road driving and the roads themselves is awesome - must be great being able to run the GT3 there.

Keen on knowing what options there may be to run at the Ring - plenty of time to sort the detail as not til mid/late Sep 2016.

Mine had the same (disclosed) fault with the spoiler when I sold it.

Two white GT cars in the garage or are you picking it for resale?

You are getting the buckets, right? They are a definite plus on the R. I can't imagine a GT4 not having them.

Problem is that the recovery is unlikely to come

Years ago, the Herald would use Porsche ownership as a pejorative when there was a crime scene (often a very used older car), now they are so much more mainstream that one is not enough. Multiple and serial ownership in this forum seems to become more prevalent than I would've thought.
