Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

Agreed. Had lots of fun around through and out of Russell, albeit with "rev limiter" kicking in a few too many times. Roads relatively empty until SH1. Definitely needs dedicated focus from a larger contingent.

Home. 1037km. Lola didn't miss a beat. Dave rode with me from Waipu to Auckland which was nice. Despite telling Paul and Macca to turn off at the red roofed church after Kaukapakapa they flew past at 8/10ths last seen heading for Helensville :-)

Some photos from today. Long beach, Russell, Elliott Bay, Oakura Bay, Waipu, Langs Beach, then Wellsford and back via SH16
Sam had to shoot back to Auckland from Waipu for a family lunch while Michael (944), Gary (red C4), John (white C4), Macca (dark blue 993), Paul (silver 993), Dave (standing next to his ex red C2, now mine) took the longer way home. Bit of traffic but still fun.

Got back about half an hour ago. Mileage = 875 miles/1400 km. Got stuck behind a Lexus SUV for ages and then there was no hope of catching the 964/993 boys so came back the main way. Quite sore after an hour+ on the motorway, sitting in the same position with no cornering for so long is actually really tiresome.
Thanks very much Doug and John for organising a great trip, one which I might never have got around to doing otherwise. I know "Cape Reinga to Hamilton" doesn't quite have the same ring about it, but still

Paul and Macca got impatient following me and hooned off into the distance so that was the last we saw of them. They missed the turn to Peak road, he he. John headed back on SH1 to earn brownie points from picking his wife up from the airport, so the last few miles was just the two red 964s, gary, Dave + I.

Actually Paul's car with the new suspension setup looked really nice. Wish I'd taken a pic of it. Really planted.
Good to see and hear your car again Macca.
