So I need to lose another 20kg to even keep the status quo let alone close the gap? I'm taking the passenger seat back out and the rear wiper but they will leave another 6kg.

Time for lightweight sound deadening & carpet, lithium battery & heater blower delete.

John I wouldnt bother. Youd find half a second going to a set of coilovers right now, lowered with a decent geo. 26Kg aint gonna by you narda. The wind direction and velocity on the front straight would make a bigger difference on any given day...
Paul. All looking good. Are they RS engine mounts I see? I assume the turn buckles are drop links? Those FDM reproduction motorsound exhaust tips are the closest available to the real thing and look very nice....now you just need their golden rod shifter and RS fork...
Sounds like a great idea for a ground-up (re)build if you ask me.
I would love to do that. There is a silver lining to your cloud. My wife overheard me talking cup car with Simon. I'll just tell her it makes sense to have a 964 build but the reality is she won't agree to either. I'll live vicariously through the RSG builds.
Chris is onto it. If you want weight out the rear look at exhaust and then heater blower.
Heres another one we try to keep secret. 964/993 shifter tunnel hatch and fuel pump cover. I was surprised when I lifted the CF parts to discover how much lighter they were...
Theres another 4kg around the engine which is easy to find if you are looking in the right places...
Im still amazed all you junkies havent hooked into the light weight battery yet (apart from Matty G the thinking mans Racer). We are talking 8kg here guys. Wrong end but still a significant reduction for the $$$ almost cant beat it...$50 a kg.....only the RS heater bypass is a better deal (2.5kg for $200)
