Thanks. Just wondering about options other than driving a car to the track e.g. pure race cars.

Anyone purchase a 2 or 4 post lift locally and had it installed. Like to set one up for this winter. Recommendations appreciated. I see there are a few China made ones with distribution companies predominately in Auckland, which doesn't bother me, as long as quality is OK.
Catching up. Thanks for the rides Sean & Pete!
Thumbs up! Just the way Porsche meant it to be.
Now I just need to figure out how to get Steve & the boys to find time for a second project.
Congrats on the times - despite the travails it's still mission accomplished!
Looks very smooth ... but agree - higher camera and lower AIM mounting.

Oops. The sans air con brigade. Unfortunately after having the compressor overhauled the evaporator has let go. Big job with time running out and no oem parts in stock in nz means zero chance of cold air on SITT . Timing bad. Wife will not be happy. I'm getting a little bit frustrated by the endless things that crop up in trying to prepare for these high intensity jaunts but at the end of the day this is what happens as these cars get older especially when we choose to ride them harder now than the first owners did when they were new.....13 hassle free years of reliable ownership but age is catching up on her now.
Sorry for the rant!

Phil. I chopped through the side wall of a new tyre yesterday (left rear), so will now be getting to at least Matt's recommendation of minimum 36 pound in the rear when hot. I spoke to Dave Taylor (Motorsport Services) today. Dave has managed a few racing 996tt's and he said they used to run the rears around 40 pound when hot, The speed and weight of the car together with the wide low profile tyres on the rear meant they used to regularly chop out the side walls if they ran the pressures to low. I will also do a bit more research on Rennlist to get others views.
I have been learning from reading this thread. Was debating driving down on low pressure colder tyres, as don't have a pump, but was unsure re the repercussions..
