Funny you should mention The road between taihape and fielding is vinegar hill road, just had a beaut drive through there today thinking this would be good for the gruppe. We decided to come to Martinborough for the long weekend. It's one of those special roads. Scenic, gradients. Corners the porsche torque is made for and the secret ingredient: no traffic. not even one car on the road today. here's mangaweka just before the vinegar hill leg... Looking forward to the langs run.

Are the boys keen on meeting up in Wellington the night you pass through heading south for SITT?
Logan Brown is setting the bar very high for the rest of the trip! Its still there in the same spot. I am thinking there might be a few nice spots in Qtown too
I will still be in town Not leaving til later so whoever is keen give me a shout.

Nice. Make sure you get some sound clips and footage of one of your runs via the gopro!
Im planning a 5 month trip including 3 months in South America starting Jan 2015. Unfortunately no go for me on a 015 RSG tour but Im still planning to attend Skip Barber intensive training in USA summer 2016. Not sure if there is still anyone interested in joining me but Im still talking with there events coordinator about a package deal there...

I need to sort out crew too. Haven't even spoken to Steve to see if he's interested, if not I think I'll call Wayne in CHCH.

Geez you boys post a lot! Keep it up Been jumping on occasionally to catch up on what's happening, I could have read three novels in the time taken to read the thread.
Chris: Colorado is spectacular. Aside from a dry spell over the week just after I arrived I've had fresh tracks every day. Every single day. Sometimes had to mission through the trees to find them but they're there. Turns out my plan of boarding every day for 32 days was a bit much of an ask on my body; had to take a few days off when I mangled a knee and tore some muscle in an arm. Luckily Ibuprofen is dirt cheap in the USA! 8 days to go, then off to NYC for a few nights. Forecast showing 20" for the weekend! Bring it on.
For the SITT stops in Wellington I'd recommend deviating from Logan Brown and checking out Ortega Fish Shack (they have land based meat as well). Was my favorite when I lived there. Logan Brown is great however and if it holds sentimental value shouldn't be missed. For Queenstown, I'd highly recommend taking the time to drive out to Arrowtown and get a table at Saffron. Best restaurant in the area, and they've got a fantastic bar (The Blue Door) across the alleyway for 'dessert'. Should not be missed.

Graeme - that is a stunning pic in the vineyard. If that doesn't get Dave's project juices flowing, nothing will! Am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh one day.

Hey Sean - which group do you want to run in on 26 Feb? I think you've paid for RSG group but not sure if you wanted me to move you to general group (I'll need to give Tony a bell if so).

Dinner at Saffron in Arrowtown? I've heard you need to book well advance so, if we are up for it, we should book in nowish. http://www.saffronrestaurant.co.nz/menu.html Entres $16-20 Mains $36-40 Sides $8.50 Deserts $16 And if you're still hungry or on a budget there's Ferg Burger in Queenstown - world famous burger and chips for $20
