Just putting a final shout out for the RSG track day at Pukekohe this coming Monday 27th (Akl Anniversary).
We have 20 RSG members signed up for the day and room for a few more. Don't be shy - will be running 2 groups based on speed so great for those who want to take it a bit easier. Only requirements are helmet, cotton overalls and drivers licence.
Phil - I thought you may be keen? Any others?

My wife says she wants a 356 (loves them apparently even though Ive tried to tell her they have no air con electric windows or synchomesh!). In Switzerland our dealer had two absolute mint ones. Im talking ones that would take out the NZ concourse (priced appropriately at 180-220k USD). She had no idea of the price. We wandered around them and the guy let her sit in one (must now be due for a discount) and I said, "honey if you REALLY want a 356 how do you feel about this one?". Yip, I didnt mean a word of it as I secretly know any 356 purchase for her would result in a car that sees no use because she realises soon after it requires care and attention. You cant just jump in it and go to town and park anywhere like she is used to. Anyway. Guess what she says? I love it but Id never own one in this colour (colour by the way was a way cool period colour like Atena blue). "Thats good" I replied "because its about 140K USD more than we can afford for your next car". She laughed, I was relieved the dealer looked at me knowingly. Colour!

Yes (but looks slim as no screen here yet) - I need to do a track day in it to get used to the car and see if there are any issues, as you guys know, only the track highlights any short comings on your cars.............and it needs to be bullet proof pretty quick for 4 track days on SITT
Getting grumpy now - haven't had my car for the last 3 weeks..................

Nik, I don't drive it much. We went to buy an Audi SW and my wife saw a NZ new Mk5 GTI with the tail up and said it was just as usable as a SW. She also wanted leather seats. Which hers has. At 6' 4" I fit in the passenger seat. As stated it also takes a lot of tyres and wheels.
Ocassionally I do drive it. It quite hard riding and certainly has some go. Maybe a bit too short wheelbase to take to the track and feel comfortable for me. At $22k and 62,000 km one owner it seemed like a relative bargain. No issues in the last year. Wish the C4 was as reliable!

My guess (cant see in the pics) its running on the option 18' wheels? They ride much nice on 17's.

Anyone know how to convince a certifier that Bilstein HD's & H&R springs are not considered adjustable suspension even though there are threads intended for minor adjustments? They're pushing for an LVV cert because of them.
They've also managed to disable my fogs and activate the airbag light since I left it with them.
Also informed my lights dip the wrong way even though I personally put in the correct lenses.
I can fix all that, just not the suspension issue. Feels like I got someone first day on the job.

Just pay a few dollars to get it cert'ed - it's no big deal. Talk to Dean at Conti's, there is a mobile guy who does it for them. Then you are all legal and no 'wiggle out's' for the insurers.

Would order your track rubber early as not to be disappointed for SITT.
Heres some for fun....bottom one could be likened to the motley RSG crew. Whos Leah then?
