John. You forgot to mention she liked the colour. If she hadnt liked the colour you would not have bought it even if it was $11,000 LOL! Ask me how I know....

True, but she rejected another model with the cloth seats because she'd been driving the turbo around and wanted similar so there was a two legged decision.

Phil - I thought you may be keen? Any others?

Mmmm. They are becoming a sophisticated consumers now... :-)

My wife says she wants a 356 (loves them apparently even though Ive tried to tell her they have no air con electric windows or synchomesh!). In Switzerland our dealer had two absolute mint ones. Im talking ones that would take out the NZ concourse (priced appropriately at 180-220k USD). She had no idea of the price. We wandered around them and the guy let her sit in one (must now be due for a discount) and I said, "honey if you REALLY want a 356 how do you feel about this one?". Yip, I didnt mean a word of it as I secretly know any 356 purchase for her would result in a car that sees no use because she realises soon after it requires care and attention. You cant just jump in it and go to town and park anywhere like she is used to. Anyway. Guess what she says? I love it but Id never own one in this colour (colour by the way was a way cool period colour like Atena blue). "Thats good" I replied "because its about 140K USD more than we can afford for your next car". She laughed, I was relieved the dealer looked at me knowingly. Colour!

The wheelbase is 308mm longer than the 964. It's even 181mm longer than the 991's! I guess you're talking about leg room?

Wow, that surprises me. It feels smaller than the 964. Maybe that's why it can take four wheels inside? Wonder if I should sneak it out to the track one day?

Getting grumpy now - haven't had my car for the last 3 weeks..................

Update from Dean - car will be ready tomorrow.

I wonder if I have time to get some 221's............................

Ocassionally I do drive it. It quite hard riding and certainly has some go. Maybe a bit too short wheelbase to take to the track and feel comfortable for me. At $22k and 62,000 km one owner it seemed like a relative bargain. No issues in the last year. Wish the C4 was as reliable!

My guess (cant see in the pics) its running on the option 18' wheels? They ride much nice on 17's.

I can fix all that, just not the suspension issue. Feels like I got someone first day on the job.

Just pay a few dollars to get it cert'ed - it's no big deal. Talk to Dean at Conti's, there is a mobile guy who does it for them. Then you are all legal and no 'wiggle out's' for the insurers.

You might just make it. Mine are 225/45 and 255/40. See if you can get a good price. Mine were $1,547 fitted. I need a new set to be fitted the week of 10 March.

It's on 17" wheels. Maybe it feels hard because my 964 suspension is so compliant.....

Would order your track rubber early as not to be disappointed for SITT.

Heres some for fun....bottom one could be likened to the motley RSG crew. Whos Leah then?
