Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

John. I will order 2 x white on red please in anticipation of the GT3. P.S. I had the top of the rubber screen seal removed (easy to do) on the 993 and the spare banner I had installed & cut before the rubber was re inserted whist at CCS and it made for a faultless install FYI...
Has anyone had issues removing the banner, in need?

Speaking of the Turbo 3.6. I'm toying with the idea of a few sessions with it at HD on the 14th but want to run most of the day with the C4 or 996TT. I'm open to ideas as to how to get two cars to HD.

Pete. Unfortunately I dont know the car (its been with the same owner almost as ling as I have had mine!) but I did see it for sale earlier in the year in TM.
On face value this is a desirable 993. NZ new, Polar silver (my favorite), Classic Grey interior, C2 6 speed and low kms (I have to say that as I have 82K on mine now!).
The asking price is perhaps a little strong for NZ market but at $60K I would say its an excellent buy assuming it needs nothing major. I wouldn't bother with the 18" wheels they are aftermarket, heavy and soft and there are better options out there (although personally I love the factory 17" stock Cup2 rims myself).
The big question is how do you get a car like that PPI'd out of Nelson? Thats a question for which I have no answer and it will definitely slow the sale of the car (if it was in Auckland it would sell real quick).
As Pete says, if you have been wishing for a 993 then this is obviously the best opportunity I have seen for a long long time to get a nice example and spec at a reasonable price. I have a garage full of take off parts from mine so chances are if it needed anything from brakes to grey interior trim I can probably help you out.
If you are serious about a 993 manual Id say you ought to give the vendor a call.....

Hey Macca......I reckon that $66k for a manual 993 is a great price...it should be more!!! They rarely come up for sale in Polar Silver and with relatively low km's as you say.............I spoke to the owner some time ago and it certainly seems to be a very nice car and from memory the only reason he was selling it was because he is getting on in years now and its not getting much use.

If its a no stories car then I would pay his reserve for it (if he wouldn't negotiate). For someone wanting a low km original manual NZ coupe its pretty much as good as it gets. The only way it could be better is if it had varioram (like your targa).

Had Glen at Motoscience go over my car today to check out the coolant leak that sprouted in the heat of the track day on Sunday. It turned out to be a simple fix. A connector on the front end of one of the aluminium coolant pipes that run forward and join other pipework near the firewall on the way to the front radiators had semi parted company. It was a simple labour only fix and a relief that it wasn't anything more serious.
So, all good now for Sunday.

Pete and I have been going back and forward with google map URLs and comparing notes for the Sunday run. There's been much frustration with Google maps behaving differently when we send information back and forth via URLs. Bring on a future version that lets you collaborate really nicely on-line real time for on route planning. It won't be to Ron's standard but it's looking good.
We couldn't get in to Hallertau due to being booked out (reduced space due to rennovations) so we're going to the Riverhead Tavern instead. Current route is 4.25 google hours long / 265km with an easy option to shorten it should we want to.
