Hi mate, yes my car has the RS brakes and Cup (40mm rod) uprights so no adapters, this was all done by the PO. I can't remember on the master cylinder, let me check some of my pics, but it's likely they did do it as all the other RS conversion parts have been done.

My understanding is that you do not need to change the whole master cylinder, just the fluid reservoir in order to handle the larger capacity of the pistons/ calipers as pads wear down. That and the bias valve so it doesn't over-brake the rears. IIRC there's a thread on this in the 964 forum.

How bad are the brakes now? Perhaps some good Motul fluid and a pad change will meet your needs for track days?

mjg - definitely upgrade the fronts before the back. The front does the vast majority of the work so you will get miles more 'bang for your buck' with bigger front callipers/discs.

Thanks guys. The reason I'm looking to change the rears was that there are virtually no track pads available for the small two piston rear caliper. The simple/cheap upgrade is to install the four piston rear caliper (and different bias valve) from the 1991-onwards 964s, which then allows you to run the same pads as the front caliper. It turns out that there may be a set of RS brakes available locally, so I'm trying to decide if the extra complexity and cost of that route will pay off in the long run.

Fair enough too. Well I guess it all comes down to how much those brakes are, how much you're going to track it and if you intend on keeping the car. Not that I need to tell you any of that.

If you can get a good deal then go for it! Then keep an eye out for a 993 MC or similar later?

If they're too pricey, which I think RS originals would be, then rumor has it that 928 brakes are the same. Just need to swap the bleed and feed lines over on the caliper. Seems a few guys on the 964 forum have done it and it might be the cheaper way to do it?

Steve has kindly given me one of his slots so I'm in for Saturday.
Checked out the website: 9am to 4pm. Getting a WOF for my car on Friday. Assuming it passes and the weather is good I'll go down to watch the start of the day. I gather spectators can just rock up?

Spectators can drive under the tunnel to the middle of the track in behind the pits, no problem. Will be great to see you.

I must have gone there too early. Only a couple of Porsches out there and my son wasn't keen to stay too long. I think Obsessed was on the track. Will post a pic when I get access to my desktop. How did you go?

BTW: picked up a high mileage 996 Turbo. She's not going to be a garage queen. I can take this one out on the track with no hang ups.

I'm old skool mate - I have a 76 Carrera 3.0 (black Porsche in the back ground).

The blue 964 Turbo belongs to NZ964C4 and the red 964 C2 MJG on this thread.

I have been playing with 964's on the track a few times this week - Do you guys know Warren Black who has a 964 too? I saw him at the Uncles Club track day last Tuesday afternoon.

Hi there, my car? Yup, Tony's old car. Almost done now, hopefully I'll have it down at HD next month.

Love your car by the way, looks mint.

Sounds like you all had a ball yesterday. Majorly jealous. Very sorry to hear about the Maritime Blue 964T.
Pete I recall your Green 993 C2S when you brought it back form the UK. Glad to hear your almost back in the fold. Share a picture with us when the transaction is done. It sounds like finally a good group of enthusiasts coming together in Auckland. Heck I might even move back there (LOL summer months only!).
