Macca. At the moment I have an AIM MXL dash in the 944 which gives me heaps of data, the only part I don't have is the GPS connector so I can do away with the transponder. the current set-up used to be okay when lots of people used them as you almost never had to put a unit out on the track. As people have gone GPS based there isn't a unit out most track days, so I will ultimately connect a GPS unit to the AIM dash in the 944. My thinking on getting the Solo now is that it will be easy to flip back and forth between the Turbo, the 944 and maybe a GT3, etc. and on a fun day I won't need to worry about transponders etc. It looks like the Solo's are still in hot demand so I don't think there would be much money lost if I later decide to sell it.
Its all getting serious with data logging, but that is a fun part as well looking at the more technical aspects of how to get better

Mine was midnight blue metallic (ex Singapore) and isnt in the photograph. The Red race car was rolled bowled and a**holed during a Targa tour in the early 2000's and re built with an entirely new shell. The yellow one was a bit of a Mutt. I almost bought it in HK but smelt a rat. Max from the Toyshop ended up importing it and it was a colour change that had had a real hard life. Had been on the circuit and had a few offs. CCS spent a fortune getting it right. He finally offloaded it and the new owner had it stolen a few months later found stripped out in the Waitaks. I almost bought iit again at the turns auctions but was bidding against a gazillionaire kiwi who owns the red race livery one mentioned already. He bought it fixed it up (not all original parts) and then resold it......the only "straight" 993RS in NZ are the red on in this picture (ex Simon - Johns friend) and the Iris blue one owned by Robert Dong in WTGN. Even mine had been in a biggish off in Malaysia on teh circuit by its first owner although he owned a Porsche independent shop and did a really good job with the repair...
In a nutshell that's the story on 993RS in NZ

Good info, I think I remember the yellow one at Conti's, was it riviera blue underneath? I wonder where all the stolen parts ended up? It's no WRX or Honda so you'd think unloading 993RS parts would be difficult

I believe there was a private import from the 5 bringing the total number to 6 in NZ...

The green GT3 looks like a real bitza. Its a colour change too as none that colour were imported to Sing (I am aware only of black and silver).

Green GT3 looks horrid IMO mainly due to the guard extensions and flutes in the guards.
