Turns out they have already produced more 991 RS than GT3 - and production continues till mid December!

Yes - I have heard this is how Porsche are dealing to speculators (take away the limited numbers......).

Question beg's - what does it do to standard 991 GT3 values then?

Macca - could be sweet time to trade up/across??

But, interesting that 930's are now worth more than 993TT's? of similar milage and originality. 930's are $200-300K in Aussie.

I can remember 930's where $50K and sat for ages 6 years ago when I got my first Pcar. There where about 3 for sale that sat for ages. I took an 85 NZ new one in red for a drive, asking was $58K........

No idea. They seemed to have firmed in NZ as of late.

Trade to what?

Will be another 15 months before the first new GT3s arrive in NZ. Probably 20-24 months before most get there's. I don't understand why people trade in their cars so early? For $20k they go without for up to 24 months? Madness aye. Imagine all the track days you'd miss out on!

Then they produce a limited edition 911R for collectors/speculators??!?. Makes no sense..

Porsche are s business. They are run by VW Group who just had 14 billion hole blown through their balance sheet. They will produce 1 unit less than total demand on current RS and GT4 (also still in production and many more than originally planned).

There will be close to 9000 X 991.1 GT3/RS/911R produced by the end of 2016. That's a record. Around 4500-5000 X GT4.

991.2 GT3 will be 5000+ units in its own. Next GT4 possibly closer to 6000.

They make them because they know we will buy them. Every one of them will be sold...

On that JZM site it looks like you could buy and import a GT3 for 245K NZD. Thats still less than NZ price for mileage, age and spec.... Matt H just bought one in. Hopefully we will see it at the track some time.

$160K NZD landed for a brand new GT4 (which is already marked up 20K GBP from its list price!)!

Id imagine there must be a few heading our way.

Makes you wonder how the local Porsche dealer will compete in the next 24 months if the GBP gets any weaker?

For example list price on new 991.2 GT3 will be around 108K GBP (7% increase over outgoing 991.1 GT3 as an estimate).

Today landed and on road in NZ that's under 200K NZD. Around 95K NZD cheaper than the car will likely list for in NZ. Almost 30%.

That's pretty scary. I hope EMD and PAG can get some more realistic pricing for this region soon. Otherwise their lunch is going to get cut by the importers...

NZ is very expensive once again it would seem for both NEW & USED Porsche?

Who started the car price talk LOL (Jamie)? Damn it. We should be talking about how we are going to drive the T*ts off them and give them a road rash patina. All this $$$ stuff is working to opposite affect. Lets hope the bubble bursts soon....

That is very good news, and a compelling proposition. It was disappointing to see dealers here profiteering on near new cars so hopefully this will knock that out.

Agreed Dave. I already heard of someone who picked up a new GT4 with good options (delivery mileage) in UK for 82k (original list was 72k with options so still over retail) and is sending it to NZ. Will owe him just over 145k landed. Seems excellent value to me. Let's hope we start building up sticks of interesting cars here again in the next few years. The NZ market just got greedy. It's now priced higher than UK for sure...

This pricing feels like another euro touring trip, track days, pick up could be in the planning. Sounds like the boys over there now are already thinking about going back. Or at least JMcM by his comments.

Agreed. Im planning a Euro trip currently for 2017 based on an Alfa Giulia QV purchase in the UK. If all the planets line up. I think John was thinking to export his 964 to Europe for a tour. I did look into that with the 993 for 2018 but that plan is no longer an option.

Besides a cup car, would love to have a crack at one of these on a nice cool day in Taupo.

I've seen nothing but praise for these. They seem like an absolute steal given the performance on track, and I'd have one in a heartbeat. Apparently this guy is trading the car that he "picked up for $2000" for one soon. Hopefully it comes with a free pair of shoes...
