Wow Stuart, would've loved to have seen that P1 being given the jandal. Was it part of a special McLaren event or was (Andrew? Matt?) brave/crazy enough to just rock up to a Playday Prestige session? Anyone sneak some rough lap times?
I wouldn't throw the Chiron out of bed, but I'd probably find myself channeling her sister car's face and rear. As for under the skin, well the Chiron has her nicely licked there.

I have to say having now sampled the 570S and the new R8 V10+ I am concerned. Porsche have a lot of competition out there! I need to convince Continental to let me go for a spin in the GT3RS to see if it can cut it.
Burning Brakes
Wheel fixit returned my RUFs to mint. They were absolutely perfect so I can recommend them. I went for the no expense spared option which was steep but they went to town.
Lol - he'd likely have congratulated me on getting past his first four stages. Chiron's 40pc+ more power than its predecessor had when it originally debuted as the world's most powerful production car does make for a fair licking in anyone's language though.
Colour me jealous Stuart! Yes Porsche has an avalanche of competition from all sides. Below the likes of those two you mentioned, Aston too finally looks to be on the cusp of releasing a mainstream model - the DB11 (5.2L twin turbo V12) - that's beginning to have some chance of keeping mine company on the performance front, and even the likes of BMW and Lexus are pushing up from below. Stir in the odd AMG (most notably the GT S) and my resolve to avoid LVV starts to soften a bit. I confess the idea of throwing the yellow terror another 100 to 150HP to keep her nose out in front has a small but growing appeal. That said, I've never yet had her out on road or track with a car that I've felt outclassed by so I'll probably leave it a while longer. At HD, I figure there is maybe another second or two in my driving plus a second or two in stickier rubber first.
Where Porsche's 911 still eclipses most other premium sports cars and supercars of course is real world usability (2+2, great all round vision, reliable and economical by supercar standards). No one has learned more from decades of endurance racing than Porsche and it hopefully will continue to show in their road cars, even if being stupid enough to ditch the handbrake doesn't bode too well on the sports front.
Yeah it was pretty epic. It was a McLaren event, and Andrew was taking some time with the Downforce instructor crew. Amazingly I didn't even think of trying to time some of the laps, I should have! It looked pretty damn fast at the end of the straight though. One of the instructors was saying when it passed him in the 570S it was spitting some decent sized blue flames.

Walt. You need to add the new Ford GT. The configurator just went up on ford.com. Estimated at $450K USD invite only 500 units. Worth selling a 991 RS for maybe?
Anyone had first hand with the new Ford Focus RS yet? I could be tempted by one. My struggle would be the styling.
Porsche punch beyond their weight. We have run against a number of modded GTR with 600-700 bhp at HD prestige group but none seem able to put in a solid 1.12/13 all day long like the PAG GT products (that have 65-70% of the power and 55-60% of the torque).

Macca 675LT would be my hands down pick out of the current crop followed very closely by 458 sp.

and a 700HP prepped GTR does this:
Turbo:
GTR 550, and prepped GTR700:
The upcoming GT3RS 4.2 will be interesting, though it still has to do its thing with 515 odd HP.
Further to the endurance comparisons, here's one guy's observation on the GTR:
"I spent 10 years in UAE. When the temperature is 35 outside gtr is ok for 3/4 laps, after the turbo is going down and the car is dead. After 5 laps Carrera S 400hp is overtaking. I am not speaking about 40 degrees."

GT3RS 4.2? I think that's all mixed up whispers. There will be a GT2RS next year and a 4.0L GT3. I highly doubt the next RS will be 4.2L. Infact I somewhat doubt it will exist at all and may indeed be the GT2RS (turbo). Currently PAG have 123bhp/L in the GT3/RS. Its highly unlikely they can achieve better than 128bhp/L in the next iteration if they have Euro6 to consider so I think we will be looking around 515 bhp max for an RS iteration if it comes and 500 for the GT3.

^^^another dealer playing the shameful game.
Don't panic people, there will be another GT3 RS made and it will be better than that one.
1989 all over again.
"Porsche has announced that the 930 Turbo will be discontinued" oh S*** they might not make any more, better over pay now before I miss out.

Vx220 on TM for $25k (probably can be purchased cheaper). Looks like a reasonable one. I know the turbo variant in stock form is good for low 19s on 888 at HD do this should be good for consistent 21s. A lot of car for the money, essentially a lotus Elise with a better body? Would make running a 964 at the track look expensive John.
