Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

The next 2k cup race is 21/11. It sounds like we have some work to do to have the cars where they need to be. We have spare drive shafts,CV boots and pads. I suspect we many need all of them. Do we need to do another maintenance day, maybe with a grass gymkhana using BB?

I had a look last night, It's a bit bogan. I guess we might not see a lot of Euro car content.

A car is born is euro so is wheeler dealers (not the trading up editions). Chasing classic cars is good for the rare cars featured. A lot of the programming is old e.g. American hot rod episodes are the ones I watched in jakarta. Boyd coddington died a few years back.

I spent Saturday on BB2. The wheel failure caused plenty of local panel damage but mechanically it seems to be OK. I changed out the front pads for a 75% set. The master cylinder, although with more travel than normal actually got better through the session and the brakes were always there and strong. Nevertheless we should sort out the new cylinder.
Re grinch is sounds like cvs yet again
Three Wheelin'
haha yes when prepping for this rally I was thinking whether I still had the desire for this and how many after 9 main Targa's and another 8 or 9 shorter ones. but when you get through a really good stage it is such a buzz

They went good. Kept it all tidy and picked up the Jealous pride award for the best presented finisher in classic. Talked to them a lot on the road.
Had to overcome a few issues like some engine bay chassis welding early on in the piece.

Visions of RSG meets zombie apocalypse for a moment there.
Teggies do like their CVs but I think they were just done in May or so yeah? It also doesn't sound like the regular clicking of bad CV's I've heard before.
Bit left field, but thinking it might be a bad top mount bearing causing the spring to scrape on the mount. This one is not as graunchy but gives the idea:

Grinch has new shocks and upper mounts plus ball joint and links.
Re the gearbox we now have two spare. 1 lowish km and one ex bb2. If the box won't select gears we can change it out. I don't mind crashing gears in an old box but a lack of gears will kill the racing fun.

Current contract is almost finished, so will have more time.

I sent Macca some images of a 993 C4 kiwi new with only 68K the other day (a Gillies basement find)
Goes to show there is no shortage of quality cars out there if the price is right.

Where in the world do they get the idea that a naturally aspirated non RS is worth $219,000 even in the exceptional condition this one indeed appears to be in? Its not even NZ new?
Even the lowest mileage example in the UK I have seen advertised (993C2S in early 2015) which had 17,000 miles on it, was UK new and basically had never been driven on a wet road wasnt asking anywhere near this kind of money (it was asking a faintly ridiculous 85K GBP in the UK market which is exceptionally bouyant).
Sorry but this is just stupid pricing and I can only see someone who is rich and stupid paying that money....
P.S. Paul - what were we saying only yesterday by PM about some of these cars we had never seen starting to come out of the woodwork and also about CHCH etc :-)

Weve seen the ridiculously priced cars in the last 12 months but who knows of anyone that has paid such money for one? Between us all I think we are fairly well connected to all things Porsche in NZ. So where are the guys who but 9643.3T asking 189K? 993 C2 (ex Buba) asking 120K? 993TT asking 189K, an SC asking 90K? and 993 C4S asking 219K?
If they even sell near those asking prices (and no evidence yet that they have) then who is buying them? Enthusiasts? (obviously not entusiastic enough to be on here), collectors? (Im sure we would know through PCNZ).
Only leaves Speculators (cant make easy money on something that's already higher than UK prices before shipping, insurance and VAT).
Investors? This is possibly the only viable answer I can see. Surgeons and other high income occupations who have been informed (often not correctly) that these are gilt edge investments. "Rolling Art". An of course they are good investments til they are not good investments! Look what happened to the Japanese market 15 years ago. Alot of F40 and 959 for sale after that fr cents in the dollar paid. Same happened in UK & US after the stick market crash and again to a lessor degree in late 2008, early 2009 in the US when GFC struck (could buy a CGT for 250K USD back then).
I may have forgotten already but what has been the most expensive NZ sold 964, 993, SC, Carrera 3.2 or 9643.3T, 993TT, 964 3.6T in the last 18 months?
Collectively here, RSG & PCNZ between us we should have a little ldea unless sold privately between parties.
Ill take a stab at the ones I know (ones in red are guesses based on rumors) and it doesnt seem particularly remarkable given some of the asking prices and the hype in the UK which has obvious filtered down to NZ + some:
964 C2 = $60k? A car Buba hear about through the club in the SI)
993 C4 = 89K
993 C4S = 119K
3,2 Carrera = 75K
SC = 50K?
9643.3T = ??
9643.6T = 210K to dealer (190K to owner)
993TT = 150k?

^^ Yes this is my understanding..........
With housing market and general business confidence cooling - I think speculators will be exiting. Only those with old T911 mag collection will be paying over the odd's.......
I think the 964 C2 sold for closer to $65K? The most expensive 964 I know of is the low mileage white car that I understand sold for $75K about 18 months ago, but like this silver 993 - a genuine collectors quality car, so probably north of a hundie now.
Interesting to watch the Aussie market - some spectacular asking prices:

^^ $170K 3.2 with not exactly a low milage??
http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/...D-3660730&Cr=6
^^ 964 C2 man with a (to be fair) low milage
http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/...-12063016&Cr=8
^^ maybe I got mine for a good price - this is almost twice the doe and twice the milage.
Carlos sold his 996.1 GT3 - I just met the new owner through work. She owns a few Ferrari's, so moving from the 'dark side'........
