I don't know what it is about 964s, but it seems like some were so cheap a while back that they were unlucky enough to end up n hands that just refused to maintain them. Both the C4 on Tardme and now this one are priced well below the UK market but refuse to sell. I would collect them if I didn't already have eyes wide open to the cost of bringing them up to my current standard (a lot higher since my R ownership).

It's a rust bucket, buying and flipping it all within a short while, meantime stacking 20k on the deal was too good to be true. I think the real potential owners of this sort of thing get to find out pretty quick and now it is doomed, or cheap.

I hate rust with a passion. I was very relieved when Hernan's windscreen replacement showed no rust in the surround. Underneath is spotless as well (protected by oil )

No wonder the original purchase fell through. I think it was described as 8/10.

8.5 if I recall! My old 964 (father-son&holyghost) only had the tiniest bit of rust under the windshield which was remedied on replacement) and I wouldn't qualify it as 9/10. Certainly not one with numerous patch jobs ...

It's so long ago that I often forget that you were once a 964 owner.

Btw I completely forgot about the paddock bashing so haven't made any arrangements. I think we will try for another day. Simon is testing his 3.8 upgrade on the weekend. I may try and get to HD to see what's what with that.

Still way too wet anyway ... Would just get stuck & this weekend soaked as well. If anyone finds themselves passing Ramarama tomorrow, it's Calf Club day!

And a little attachment for memory's sake.

Let us know if still ok to pop round Sat arvo with the AIM - won't take long for Macca to figure out how good the R really is

Soon Herman's lines will be as straight around that front door hinge. A pity that Steve hasn't found a use for the shell.

And a good number of other shells... Macca may need to go round and give him some de-cluttering tips!

Yes, I'm fine. I will be only too happy to show Macca how fast the R (GT3 0.4) corners. If I hadn't sold it to you for the price I paid I think I would be more in mourning right now. At least the proceeds are funding a good cause - a well sorted 964. I've spent the last week working out how to trigger the exhaust cut-off. The best idea seems to be to switch a solenoid with the resonance valve signal at 5,500 revs. It will bellow on the track being essentially straight through as I'm gutting the cat as well. Can't believe I left that in place and gave up 10 easy HP.

I wasn't aware she was ahead I however sense there are a few other 964s getting serious. Warwick and Nathan are just two. Might have to try those 214 fronts that Paul gave me.

If Herman's not back and running by Dec we'll know you're running scared... Couple of newbies in 964s as well so pressure is on.
