GT2's having Leper status is a crack up. Guess someone found a cure ![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Geesus: The 996 Turbos at Fast Fours were rough around the edges. Both sold recently. The Turbo S tip was a good buy but has gone to Whangarei.
Worth keeping an eye on the Japan yards (can do so via www.carwebs.co.nz) but most are LHD (it's a status symbol in Japan to drive an imported left hook, I asked my Nippon girlfriend about it and she just nodded and said "yeah it is, of course"...).

Tanks Paul, I'd forgotten about the Facebook group. I think he's been looking on trademe for a while so hopefully has a handle on those big numbers!

Also the Navy one that wouldn't move at 120k.....
Before the Black GT2, a Silver GT2 sat for high 70's down the line for months, I enquired but decided for my first Porsche it was a bit much car for me.
Goes on and on..

Thanks Pel, interesting info about that silver 996 GT2. You don't have any emails/details from the seller do you by chance?
nzskater, I couldn't view that link in the previous page as it appears I need to register first?
For the record, if anyone sees or hears of a 996 or 997 Turbo, GT2 or GT3 for sale then please let me know via a PM or email. ollie@daybreak.co.nz

Yes, you do need to register. Should only take a minute and costs nothing however.

Are we talking U.K market 'right money' or NZ? ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I think/ am glad the NZ market is less crazy than the U.K
The only GT2/3s I've seen listed/sold on trademe since January 2015 have been as follows.
- 2002 Black 996 GT2 $95,000 (sold to U.K)
- 2005 White 996 GT3 $90,000 (Targa car)
- 2007 Black 997 GT3 RS $184,990 (Contis or Giltrap)
- 2007 997 GT3 $126,000, manual (Christchurch)
There was also a black 996 GT3 at Contis for ~ $90,000-$100,000 late last year or earlier this year (I didn't take any screenshots of that car though)
And the Japanese import silver 996.1 GT3 for sale in Greenlane at around the same time (had odd bumpers on it though, 996.2 from memory (was around $60,000-$70,000).
996/7 Turbos have mainly sat, bar that Midnight Blue 996, X50 Aero for $75,000 which was only on trademe for a day or so.
There's the two black 996 turbos at Fast 4s and the silver one at Industry motors.

Well done, you know the market very well
UK market money would be fantastic and would sell it straight away but I highly doubt you could ask for that in NZ and not get laughed at
Good luck looking and be prepared to jump on it straight away, good options one seems to be gone as soon as they are listed

Hi guys,
Thank you for the replies so far.
The U.K market is absurd, I'm not going to play into the hype here, the dealers are doing what they naturally would do and are driving the prices up.
I think my safest bet is to keep an eye on trademe and use my hard earned £££ to buy something in New Zealand. The GBP is looking good against the NZD also, maybe it will get to 3:1 by Christmas!?![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My plan is to return some time in the next 2 1/2 years anyhow. My friend up the road in Auckland would be happy to store a car for me I'm sure.
I'm an avid track day attendee, having owned a circuit car for a few years and was briefly in the 2k cup right back at the beginning. So whatever I buy will more than likely see a few outings at Hampton Downs.
Does anyone know why that black 996 GT2 from Blenheim sat for so long at $100,000?

The UK market and NZ are kind of one in the same now, its sad to see but a number of awesome cars have left these shores and headed to the UK, 3 of the top of my head are a 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0, 964 3.6 Turbo, and the 996 GT2 that is currently for sale in the UK. There will be a number of others as well.
As for dealers pushing the price up, they cant do that without buyer interest. Simple supply and demand.
Most NZ owners look to the UK for a price guide these days so I dont think youll be finding any amazing deals in little old NZ.

You arent in the loop (neither am I), but CCS seem to stock and sell cars that dont even make it to their website/TM. The have a database on purchasers that they deal with, their last resort is advertising.

I think a good example is that 993 Turbo for sale with 'The Toy Shop' for $200,000.
I don't thinks there's enough scared to miss the boat investors in NZ like there are in the U.K driving prices to crazy levels.
