Finally thinking of getting a video camera for in-car video. Not for racing, track days, etc but fast b-road touring, Targe Tour, etc.
Been watching some video reviews and reading and are thinking about this unit....
Amazon.com: DOD TECH LS430W LS Series 1080P Dash Camera, Japanese Lens, Large f/1.6 Aperture: Car Electronics
Anyone with more experience than me like to chime in?
Wish list:
Automatic stop-start capture (not necessary to turn on/off)
Full day of video
High quality video capture with high dynamic range (shadows and brightness)
Good quality sound
Ability to watch the video on the unit to check alignment, settings etc.
Easy to download to computer/ upload to you tube

He was pulling away from me on our first lap out of that session, going notably faster than previous runs when I watched lively attempts to keep up with the C4S coming out of corners.
Lights were red by the time I got to start/finish and just caught him on video rolling to a stop off to the left after T1 with crinkles down the right side.
Was more than happy to call it done at that point.
Glad we'll see the Cayman back! I hope Simon has found his way as well.

Yeah. Simon with the Cayman S wasn't listening hard enough that day. I held behind him first two sessions and I think he was under the impression I was a retard driver or something. We told him about the water there before the second session. On the third session I was ready to stretch the GT3 legs a bit more but he pushed in as lead with the young kind in the passenger seat. Next thing hes gone. He must have been going way to quick for the conditions as I did not catch him on that first lap until he had finished rounding out the corners of the Cayman on the inside and outside cement barriers on the front straight! I think he may have been showing off a little for his 10 year old passenger Damien Omen (not his real name but as he was later in the day pulled from the wreak of a second car we felt he may have been a curse!). Thats where experience comes in I guess. Actually I have little wet weather track experience. The only time I've spun either of my cars on the track is in the wet/damp. I think you have to know your car quite well before pushing on without incident in those conditions and also suitable rubber would help.

Going to have a play with this and see how usable it is. Streams to online account etc. Some of the instructions like "register" are in Russian lol so not a great start and they'll probably hack all the hobbit **** from my weekend away having to share a room with Macca but at least its not another device to charge etc.
Here's a review too http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/dash-ca...id-comparison/

Here you go Chris - may as well go all the way. V8 Cayman anyone?
PORSCHE CAYMAN: An Autohaus Hamilton Concept
A lot of people believe the Cayman, Boxster, 996 and 997 will be hot players in the future as obtainable tuning platforms. We thought we’d put some ideas together and draw up our dream Cayman.
So what exactly are you looking at? Well we’re thinking it would potentially be called the Cayman GT-RS, or something along those lines. What is important right now is what we’ve done, besides all the top secret in house bits and bobs we will do, in this rendering you’re looking at a mid-engine V8 conversion Cayman. The body has been widened with the addition of a rear and front flare, along with a side skirt to fill between and a RS style rear wing. The roof scoop is completely functional drawing air to the individual throttles sitting behind the driver and passenger.
Remembering this is the ultimate package, but it is something we can most definitely construct without an engine conversion and focus more on suspension, braking and cosmetic appeal.
Thanks to Claudio, from Capozzi Designs getting our ideas onto a digital platform!
