Good spotting. The M12 fits the bill. Handles well. However Ive driven a M12 when the NZ importer first brought them in and I could barely fit my feet in the pedal box (know issue). Anyone with S10 or above might struggle too. As the car is not for me it does remain an option so I will put it on the list!

Keep the good ideas coming lads. AMG 4-matic could be a market advantage. Maser Gran Tourismo (4.2L = 400 bhp) 2008 60k miles could be landed for around 65K NZD. Looks like these still ask in the 80s? Although there is a lovely 2012 NZ new MC 4.7 in WTGN for 109K with 34K km on it and if it could be bought for 100K would be a great buy for someone (selling 55K GBP).
Clio v6 is lovely. Ive seen 1 or 2 UK imports in NZ at the Elerslie show.
USED CAR IDEAS FOR EXPORT - GB - UNDER 30K GBP inc VAT

We really are missing some great value French metal here lads. Things like this Renault Megane RS Sport 2013 with 21k km (basically a brand new car) sitting on our doorstop for 30K after some haggling. Thats a 250 bhp daily driver for some of you to hack around town or go to work in. cant buy a new Civic for 30K!
Obviously may be limited arbitrage opportunity for Renault if the NZ pricing is a bit sharp...

Ah yes Jamie. The better half. That was who this exercise was for! She keps telling me she needs a car. Might be getting a bit carried away here :-). Im sure I can convince her into almost any of the proposed (she doesnt mind stick) barring the Exige & the Nobel (bit OTT for her). However Ill leave everything on the list here as the excercise may be of interest to others.

choice is so wide Macca that I reckon the weighting that you put on the criteria you listed is the key.
If this had to be a practical DD once back in NZ it narrows the choices down. 4 seats, good in commuter traffic, reasonable boot, nothing too old or expensive to maintain.
M3 V8 either 2 or 4 door - or
New M235i less back seat space but not much bigger than a golf, great in city traffic and later could be chipped to 380hp and wack on some Ohlins or KW and it will be nearly an M2

Jaguar XKR-S? Make a great tourer. Unsure of local practicality or demand, but haven't seen many around.

Think you are right Graeme. That m235 idea has merit too. The M2 can only be months away now??
Just spoke with tony. He bought the LHD Dubai exige S in Black sister to the yellow elise that was for sale last year. 2009 but basically brand new - It was very reasonable and he's having it converted to RHD as we speak.
