Pick of the cars for me was the 300SL Gullwing.
The BMW i8 was ok, 3cyl plus elec motor, $278k, and a carbon fibre chassis.
The Zanzibar GT3 was stunning. Remember this for sale a couple of times recently and lusted after it then. Frank's SC looks good. I hitched a ride around Puke in that probably 25 years ago and it is good to see it as nice as it is now. The green and white RS has a special place too.
Would have been 86 or 87. I was at the track one day I think watching the Le Mans relay race. At the end the Porsche guys were taking the marshals and helpers out for a few laps as thanks. I was just standing there (not a helper or anything) and Ollie waved me over for a few laps - 125mph in the rain and a bit of action at the hairpin. Blew my mind.

Rear blower delete was an easy one - youll have no trouble with the electrical side of that and it gets a bit of dead weight out the back.
With the new ECU I can run an O2 sensor and I thought I might as well go the whole hog and know where my AFR is at all times. I will get Robin to trim it in good time.

Just doing the Coromandel crawl right now in the Black Behemoth. Air con set at 21C. Stereo on Spotify. A moving leather sofa. Horses for courses.

The Porsche team won. Helen will probably be drunk about now..........

It was interesting to see that the Zanzibar pulled the biggest crowd by a long shot. People were infatuated with it. The public's response was interesting when there was $1M RS next to it, black 930 and RSR tribute etc.

I think the 996 GT3 is aging well.

Congrats the Porsche team. Which car(s) took it out?

Didnt look like PCNZ club got its usual place - that or else a wall has gone up somewhere that wasnt there before?

The Zanzibar colour does it every time. I dont think its the 996 GT3 shape, mots punters have no idea about that but the colour that does it. I just ordered a new Ford Ranger Wildtrak 3.2 in that colour as I love it (infact was only reason I bought that model truck really LOL). The 991 GT3 RS being launched at Geneva in 26 days also is metallic orange and will look really great.

Right you are John. Im looking forward to what you find as very interested in following this project to see if claims are realistic etc.

Dave, 278K for an i8!!!!!!!!!! OMG thats almost GT3 money. Very LOGANS RUN and I love it from a design perspective. I have a friend in LA with one and have been invited to drive it in 8 weeks time so will let you know what I think!

Macca, Specialist Components don't make any power increase claims, they just infer it with well placed dyno charts.

I've read so far that the MAF has no power increase, it's all about response. That leaves timing and fuel control, plus Steve reckons a cat bypass is worth 5 ~ 10hp. Something has changed with the power output. Not sure how much until I get it on the dyno or run wheel to wheel with Lola.

Welcome mr phil to the gt3 club, I think she looks beautiful and very well specced. Hope to see some pics soon.
Car show was excellent . The 6m US$ gull wing was amazing and unfortunately will never be driven as uninsurable as a car. It is however insured as a work of art for the full amount as long as it is never driven on the road.

The 8i was interesting but nowhere near anything that I would like to have in the
After cleaning my car and getting it to a good level I must admit when I got in it to drive home after the car show I thought it is the perfect car for where I am at the moment. Nice feeling.
John , I am interested in your proposed modifications and will be eager to see the R on the track.
Yearning to get back into the 944. Come on the 22 nd.

There was ( in the 80's anyway ) a 300 SL had pride of place on a turntable at the Len Southward Museum . Kapiti Coast. Also plenty other cars & bikes of interest - eg. Capones Caddy with bullet marks.

Neil, I will drive the R down, pick up the Grinch do a few sessions with it until I feel dialed in enough to handle Taupo, then the R will come out to play for a few sessions. I hope it's dry as I won't have insurance until I can sort out driver training.

Herman is destined to become a bit more of a test bed for tinkering. I like the idea of doing the Targa tour in him at some stage.

Now to find out more about GT4 buying from Macca just in case the R fizzes on the 22nd. I gather we are the only two going.

Fortunately / unfortunately I have a vast amount of experience with this. Try taking big angles so you are essentially entering side on.

If it's any conselation the Carrera GT is much worse than a GT3.........

My Turbo is the same, as is every other GT 911 from what I can tell.
