Pete. Agreed. Never know in UK how much track its seen either.
Make sure you post pictures on your travels. Keep an eye out for cayman GT4 and 991 GT3RS mules around the factory. Dont forget to take photos of any unusual exclusive optioned cars.
Whats the temperature there today?

Whoa - things move fast during a long haul flight!! Wake up and all of a Sudden John's gone all GT3 on us. A fine example - thought I was the only one who checked their stock regularly. But landed I would have thought at the pricy end of the scale?

Even in NZ this thread moves at the speed of a GT3...
I can't keep up reading RL while practicing flappy padels and left foot braking in my rental car on the wrong side of the road..
No tickets yet, coppers are friendly they just give me the high beams and point at their radar.. Blew 2 breathalizors so far and miraculously they were clear, one at 11AM and one at 1:30PM. They take this way serious here.
2800 Km's so far in fairytale landscapes taking the ferry to North Island Thursday. I hear the nice weather will end.

Seeing a GT4 would be a highlight - unlikely to happen though.

That being said John Id advise against buying anything too collectable, special or mint or else it will only cover minimal KMs and you will be too afraid to use it at the track or in the fashion it was meant to be driven.

Pete. Tell them Macca sent you to check out the new GT4 to see if it was worth ordering next year. They know me (for better or worse) in Stuttgart at the very highest board level (I kid you not!!!).

Saw a relatively rough silver 3.6T in at Motorscience today (don't ask). Made yours look so good John.
All this talk of GT3's. Have had fleeting moments of wanting to trade in the Turbo recently, exaggerated by unplanned expenses. No plans for the short term but we will see. Need more 991 GT3's to be picked up so the market floods with 997's...

Nic,
Why do you think the 6.2 will be least desirable?
They are all old cars now (i.e. fully depreciated) and generally a 6.2 is worth more than a 6.1.
There are not enough public sales in the UK, but if you look on the Aussie sites there are several of each for sale and the 6.2's are more expensive? This would suggest more desirable.
No right or wrong answer - just interested in your views as to why least desirable?
In another 10 years’ time my pick is the 7.1 and 991 as the least desirable.

Harris rates the 6.2 above the 6.1 but the UK market is indicating otherwise.
Agree with Paul. Theres been plenty of 997.1.2 & RS GT3s for sale recently and more to come as another 3-4 3.8RS owners about to trade their cars into Gillies & CCS etc in anticipation of 991 GT3RS which will be announced before Geneveva and launched first week March at the show with deliveries starting may and ending October/Nov.
991 GT3 will complete production 28 Feb and the 3-4 2014 which were rejected by their original purchasers due to the engine replacement (silly as they could have received a VERY healthy cash compensation) have from what I have been told now all been sold as well (CCS sold both red cars over the last month).
If you are in market for 997.2 GT3/RS the next 6 montsh should provide ample pickings and almost without doubt the prices will get lower as they always do in NZ (name a new car that you can buy in NZ and sell for what you paid for it or more 6-12 months later - currently RHD 991 GT3 supply is so restricted in the UK you will not find a 1 year old car with 10k kms or under for less tha n 20% above original sticker price!).
996 GT3 still remain the best entry level but as Buba says they are getting on and will be like 993/964s in terms of maintenance requirements within a few years. Right now my pick is 997.1 GT3 or RS if you are shopping 100-150K.
Daves car is a collector car I reckon. Best left for the bonnet polishing brigade as Paul says....

Paul, I have no idea regards the 991 GT3, its to early to know and depends on what's next (maybe the controversy will help like it has done with other models, or if they stop making atmo engines soon etc) but the 997.1 GT3RS has been one of the best performers in terms of appreciation in USA in last 18 months. They are picking up well in UK now especially in jellybean colours and are at their 2008 list prices already.
