You are a brave man John. Breaking a 964 for a profit is a hiding to nowhere IMO. Someone like Steve will buy it and can probably resurrect it or viably break it. If I has a spare garage space right now I wouldn't be filling it with broken stuff....if you are renting out garage space let me know!

Macca, it helps when you have an inherent need for some parts. I would not break a car I had no interest in.

As for space, I'm continuously moving things around to make it work and think I could get four cars in the garage at a pinch but no room for long term sitters right now. I managed to get rid of the last long term sitter, the piano.

I still think its an expensive way to buy parts John!

Anyone having some spare garage space in Auckland please let me know?

Depends what you pay and what you need. I would still like to have the opportunity to put two cars side to side and pull parts off one to make the keeper one better.

Just about to get my act together and sell the 996TT. I have 11 weeks away next year and I only use it in poor weather so it's now or wait another year.

Now I've had a few beers after a great week so bear with me as I indulge....

Next week

South Island

6 days on the road

Red 991 GT3

750 kilometers

of closed roads

Including

The Port Hill's

The Crown Range

And Coronet peak

And Highlands Park

And many other fabulous South Canterbury, Otago and Southland Roads

Woohoo

Madness not to partake in the 20th anniversary special South Island Targa Tour

Ok, so I'm in the passenger seat

Holding on to my stomach

Trying to read the stage notes

And doing mental maths in my head about kms to go to the next warning

But hell yeah, this is going to be great

You should be here too :-P

If you can't I'll post a photo or two for you

good luck for the 996TT sale John. Cant remember how long youve been planning it but actually I think since you have owned it the prices have levelled out so you wont take much of a hit on it I am sure...

Still sub $50k but I'm not in a hurry so silly offers won't get the time of day. It could be the longest car on Trademe.

Good luck Doug. When you get Lola back on the road we need another road trip. The Turbo 3.6 is raring to go.

Reunion tour should definitely be on the cards. Am sure there're a few groupies on here that will join in! Although Lola's absence shouldn't preclude you from taking the 3.6 for a spin. This weekend is the perfect opportunity for it. Weather is fantastic!

She's lined up to go to Europacific for the panel work at the end of November. Really missing being able to fire her up and go for a run.

100% agree. If you want to get the garage relic out for a blast John join us in Jan. Im looking to organise a bit if a informal overnight northern hell run maybe stay overnight on Douggies bach lawn (will have to borrow Matty Gs love nest Tent or something). Maybe between 2-8 Jan if you are up for it. I have no idea whos up for it but I have some great route maps from Canonball Run I lent Ron which he fine tuned over a two day group drive up that way last year....
