My favourite pre 90s 911 Graeme. Have seen one in the flesh and poured over it. Dripping with detail and bespoke handiwork. Advanced for their time commissioning ZF for a 6 speed box which PAG adopted 3 years later. PAG couldn't get anywhere near 470 bhp out of that engine. RUF also pioneered the EKS transmission with ZF and Saches. PAG studied this for years before abandoning in lieu of Tipo (perhaps a mistake who knows). Love it!

would be an awesome car wouldn't it - a truly one of a kind never to be repeated. No safety nets and no doubt a bit scary to drive if you give it the Jandal in recent Volvo parlance. When I went to the Ruf factory in 2006 they had once 964 chassis left that they could build anything from. Thought about that for quite a long time - which reminds me I must post a pic of the momento I bought - not a car...

Nice John. that will get the enthusiasm going for adding some more tuning or even cosmetic touches amongst the 964 boys here. Don't like those black 996 gt3 wheels on the 964 though

PCNZ Dual Sprints are advertised. Registered with my BB lap time to get that pesky Lola off my butt. That is likely the end of my Z221s. I do have a spare front and rear but they are right hand side.

John. Sounds like this could be a historic opportunity for you to put in a PB at HD for a while if no replacement Hankooks are forthcoming soon....

Has anyone (other than Paul) has corner balancing done recently in Auckland and can recommend a place? My 993 needs a good going over and thought id get this done after HD on 19th...

That's the plan. I know exactly where 0.75 seconds are up for the taking and intend to get them. After that I'm not sure what I will do for the NITT.

Matt. Thanks for the suggestion. Bob & Grady Homewood installed the LINK in my 993 in 2011 so I know the team up there well and as you say they are very capable with their own machine shop etc. Its just a little bit further out of town than I was hoping thats all....

John. Time to try the Nitto NT01s. Those can be acquired in stock for September if you contact the distributor asap. I spoke with Dunlop Motorsport a few weeks ago and they will have the DSGZ03 in M2 compound in stock September but will be too late for NITT. The NT01 should be a good replacement option, they will be fractionally slower than the Z221 but will likely last a little longer....
