[QUOTE=CaymanCrush;15992310]This is one big problem that GM barely acknowledged. The Z06 would over heat on a hot day, let alone on a canyon run or the track.
As far as dropping the roof is concerned, there were reports in the C7 the targe top would just come lose and fly off the car. Very efficient.[/QUOTE
The automatic transmission cars lacked the 3rd radiator necessary to keep the car at peak performance. The '17 cars with manual transmissions added the 3rd radiator which solved the problem. How do I know? I own a '17 Z07 and have run it very, very hard on track and canyon runs with zero problems. As far as the roof is concerned it helps to fasten the latches.

I don't see base C8 anywhere near the 100k range. Majority will be in the 70 range I don't see the Z51 being worth more the 7.5k

c7 z51 option is about $5000. since c8 is not too far off c7 pricing I bet options will be comparable $ too

exactly my thoughts. Can't wait to sit in one and see how it feels. I'm a big fan of the 992 and fine with the nubbin and such but the interior doesn't feel special at all. For $100k or less these vettes will be loaded up. That's boxster/cayman territory these days which is crazy.

I feel nicely equipped with z51 and some interior bits, c8 will typically cost $75k.

Is it safe to say the 4 cylinder 718 is now officially dead?

base 718 must go all electric to have a chance. why would anyone pay extra for one over c8 with that 4 cyl?

Stick a fork in it. They better put the 4.0 GT3 motor in there for $100k msrp. Good times.

No, the Vette is a big car, especially compared to the 718, and it will be far from having the gocart feel of the P-car. I think everyone needs to take a deep breath here and wait until the road tests come out, cars can be seen in person and specs/option pricing comes out. I cannot believe some have actually sold their P-cars already and put deposits on C8s with knowing any of the aforementioned information.
