Corvettes have always been a bargain. With the C8, it’s even more enticing, because of the mid engine setup and the performance numbers are going to be up there with the best. But, it still has the typical GM, “almost” factor to it. The car looked good all around, except for the rear end and tailpipes. The tail lights and the whole rear bumper design just screams Camaro too much and it looks terrible. And once again , they “almost” got it right. The interior is just odd too. The tablet slapped in the middle, wedged between the swooping console and steering wheel looks weird. Also, as most GMs do, it still has that plastic, generic look to it. But again, starting at just under 60k, it’s one hell of a bargain. I can’t get over the rear end. They should’ve made it look lower and wider and come up with a new light design. Also, the spoiler is too much of a 90s look. It does need a proper spoiler.

^^Those lights aren't the thing: maybe the aftermarket will supply a better version.
Chevy: they need to be round (dumbasses).
That wing is also quite disappointing.

Porsche has a fairly extensive option list - so maybe Chevy has a few too.
And NO car anywhere has the aftermarket and mods availability of Corvettes ! So I think you can customize away.

Im unimpressed with the looks. it does have the presence as the previous models to be their HALO car. I used to own a C6Z and it looked killer and but build quality was absolute garbage. I think chevy really **** the bed by changing the vette to a mid engine. thats just me.

I like it a lot. I am looking forward to seeing what the convertible looks like. At some point I will have to get one. In the past I have waited for the third year of production so they can work some of the bugs out.

I have to say, I like it - need to see more info of course and real life reviews, but looks really cool.
The price is a big part of the equation, and that's OK. The 60K base price is really impressive. That's what a 1995 base no options 993 cost nearly a quarter century ago...
I figure, at today's prices, a fully optioned '51 variant will be 80K out the door, well less 1/2 the cost of a used previous gen 458 with similar performance.
Subscribed.

Never ever have liked corvettes. Not the car, not the corvette culture. I go to Barrett Jackson every year as its right next to my house and if I see another douche in a law chair sitting next to his prized restomod corvette with a poster of all the upgrades he did, I just might slap him.
having said that, this is a winner and i would absolutely buy one as a daily beater in a heart beat. In fact- going to go to the Chevy dealer to get the low down.
Of if they start with their adm games, I’ll walk as those are lame- but this car is a winner and kudos to GM for getting it right.

I think it will have the desired impact to the sales demo. Maybe you'll see someone that doesn't have an AARP card and white hair climb out of them in the future.

i put a deposit on one today. should be able to order it in December.
of course i am not getting rid of my 911.
I hate the rear end. its terrible. with a sub 3 sec 0-60 its all that most cars will ever see. shame.

Major improvement in quality moving from C6 to C7, hopefully a similar step with C8. but at this price point it won't match Porsche, but that is to be expected. Not sure why you think this is such a bad idea, the current C7 platform was really at the end of its development potential and the move to mid-engine will give them the next step.

they expressly addressed that during the launch event in the first few minutes, and seems rhd was part of design process, so i'd say you'll get yours
