Thoughts on the new corvette?

thats not a factory production truck, it’s a 1 of 50 built by Yanko. That package alone without buying a truck is more that a fully loaded Raptor MSRP and Chevy couldn’t even do it them selves s as do had to have someone else built it? Not to mention the appearance package looks like it was straight out of the 90’s and it will end up being a $140,000 truck with a built motor and some big brakes? The value will drop faster than a mid 2000 BMW while the Raptor will still be worth 75% after 5yrs. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2021...-muscle-truck/
So what exactly does Chevrolet have performance wise?

Depends on how you're looking at Raptor competition. Ifor how I use a pickup, I'd much rather have an 800 HP Yanko Silverado than a RAPTOR, as I prefer a truck with a low center of gravity that handles better on the street, than a tall one with off-road suspension that doesn't fit under the lift in the garage.

... I hope so. Then I'll be able to buy someone's low-mileage garage queen in a couple years for $60k.
I liked the old v8 Raptor, but not the new Turbo 6 one.
The RAM TRX is probably the performance truck of buy today if I was shopping or a GMC Denali for the fanciness, that I then hand over to Hennessey. I don't much care about future resale value as I keep my vehicles until their done. Still driving my full time AWD 2001 GMC Sierra c3 with 204k miles.

Booth, I agree with you about the C8 and I have owned a corvette since I was 18yrs old. But you asked what Chevy has performance wise. They have this and to be honest I haven’t had to point by any porsches yet on a track and I have seen many. There isn’t a car under 150k that is even close to the performance of these. Also Chevy has the zl1 l1e that will embarrass more than a few porsches on the street or the track for way less money. I would love to have a Porsche gt2 but a bit out of my price

If you're looking for a cheap performance car, the Corvette is no doubt a good deal and it has plenty of performance, no doubt about it.
But it's just plain butt ugly. It looks like it was designed by a Japanese five-year-old with a learning disability.

Caymancrush awesome viper. I have always been a fan of the vipers. Came close to buying a 16 ACR-E new. I have been a corvette guy my whole life. The 19 zr1 in Sebring orange is my favorite car of all time I will never let it go. It will forever be the most powerful front engine manual transmission corvette ever made. Under 3k made. Real special car. I turn 50 this year and would love to afford to order a new gt3 manual transmission. Cars are going to be sweet.

I guess that the 'BLACKWING" is not going in that one either.
I sure do like it in my CT-6 V, but that "new" sound coming out of a Corvette is surely music to my ears!

How about a white, (or other races) 5-year old with disability? Far more likely that the C8 was designed by white guys.
