Diesel Cayenne and VW emission issue

Kevin,
Were you concerned about knocking any debris loose that would later end up in the cylinder?
I did a quick peak down the tube and I don't think mine is that bad (maybe 1/16' or less) at 55k miles. Going to continue to monitor/investigate.

No
There really was not much carbon buildup past the first turn in the intake manifold.
I used a tooth brush to pull the carbon out, and a vacuum right there at the manifold opening to suck all the stuff.
Once I was satisfied with the tooth brush cleaning, then I slowly stuck the vacuum in the Manifold.
Cayenne is running well.

Cayenne Diesel ProVent 200 installation.
Replacement Vent hose if needed.
Turbo inlet connection
Valve cover connection with factory Vent valve.
Removing Vent hose from Valve outlet.
Coalescing filter, I have 2 one always cleaned ready to go. Wash dirty one with Vasol squeeze dry and store until next time.
Compression Inserts I used.
Prefit of parts.
Hi Dear Cayenne Diesel fans,
I finally have had some time to install my Mann ProVent 200 Catch Can, and here are the photos from start to finish.
My original plan was to mount the unit off the air filter and passenger side engine compartment frame.
Upon removing the compartment covers, I realized a better place was the back of the fan housing as my photos show.
I have tried to show the parts I made and compression inserts used to fasten my two custom brackets too the housing, this has worked tremendously well.
I used the original vent line by cutting it into two and heat bending the pieces to suit the fwd running hoses, 1 inch in (id) nothing smaller.
You can see by the two modified vent hoses, that I was able to Sweat heat and shrink them on to my copper connectors, for good measure I used a couple of Spring Clamps.
The only tricky part was feeding the two hoses fwd from there original fitting positions, a little patience works wonders.
I have fed a vinyl hose from the lower drain of the ProVent filter, to the frame with a Brass valve for periodic draining.
Finally I modified the passenger side trim to accommodate the height and width of the filter.
I hope my photos help others to install there own systems.
Folks I'm sorry for not getting all the photos up in one go, I'm a novice at this will send the rest later.
I apologize.
Cheers,
Murray

Murray,
Thanks for posting your installation. My installation of the APR catch can was eerily similar to yours. Being lazy I was able to hang the APR catch can mounting bracket off of an existing air filter mounting bolt.

Catch Can:
Thanks Rob,
As I mentioned before, I’d be Leary of any Filter Can that doesn’t have any pressure relief valves.
I experienced problems with a unit I bought from the UK, I installed it on my Mitsubishi Pajero RHD Diesel I important from Japan. After a few hundred kilometres I noticed a pressure buildup, that’s when I found the Mann ProVent 200 back 2009.
👍

Doesn't go into a whole lot of detail, but sound like to me the system tried to do a DPF regeneration and found something awry.
Scan it for codes and see what popped.

Check DPF

I'd make PCNA do the service. It's not easy... or cheap. And their damn fix is probably causing our DPFs to goober up quicker than they would have before.
They won't do anything else without a code, so it threw the code. Make them fix it.

For what it is worth at 37.5K miles ( 2.5K after the fix ) my CD threw a diesel pre-heater light along with loss of power and no cruise control. Dealer found fault codes P05A300 and P040300 and wound up replacing the DPF which had to come from Germany.
At 40K I got a CEL and they replaced the EGR valve.

Question,
In the Porsche Cayenne parts list .PDF it lists for the Diesel Particulate Filter Part Number: 958-113-023-EX that replaces: 958-113-023-60
-- Is the -EX for the post fix and -60 pre fix?
-- Are these interchangeable?
