That's correct. For my CPO they automatically extended me to 8/125. I called customer service to confirm and it was in fact that way in the computer. So, for my 2013 CPO, my warranty now expires in 2021.

Sidenote, BobCat look into the VW FAQs as it gives some specific info for Two or more owner cars.
I must not be caffeinated properly today. I read through the FAQs - no mention of two owner cars.

Thanks.

As for the amounts you'll get, I'd approach it like this. Original owners registered and will get their share. You're buying late so unsure of your status and may get nothing of the settlement. Price your offer accordingly and anything you may get down the road is a bonus.
Are you trying to say that eligible not-first owners might get nothing!? Based on what?

The first owner already got paid (for at least the first half). Any current owner most likely knows about the issue and would have registered and be paid by now.

You're saying the current owner wouldn't get paid the second 'half' though.

Second payment is contingent on getting the fix. I don't remember what is the procedure if the CD is sold before the fix and there is a different owner. Maybe you have to check the VW page to see if they say something about it. I don't remember anything about changing the settlement registration to someone else

There are a bunch of snippets, but nothing that really answers the question directly that I can find:
Under
You are eligible for relief if:
  • You currently hold title to Generation One Eligible Vehicle in the United States or its territories or hold it by bill of sale dated before June 1, 2019; you currently hold title to a Generation Two Eligible Vehicle in the United States or its territories or hold it by bill of sale dated before December 31, 2019;
From the Exec Summary:
If, however, you sell your car after January 31, 2017 (the date the 3.0-liter Class Action Settlement and FTC Settlement were filed), you will not receive any benefits.
From the VW side:
To be eligible to participate and receive a Buyback, Lease Termination or Approved Emissions Modification under the Settlements, you must be the owner or lessee of an eligible vehicle at the time you seek to obtain relief.

If you owned an eligible vehicle on June 28, 2016 and sell, trade or otherwise transfer ownership of your vehicle before obtaining your benefits under the Settlements, you will lose your right to obtain any benefits, unless the reason you transferred ownership was because your car was totaled and you transferred ownership of your vehicle to your insurance company after September 16, 2016.
Which gives the impression that once you sell the vehicle you lose whatever benefits you hadn't yet gotten.

So a second owner is definitely "eligible" and it seems clear that selling / turning in the vehicle will mean you don't get more money, but it doesn't state what a second owner would actually get if the first owner/lessee registered.

Anyone feel like digging through the fine print on their offer package?

And it looks like I won't be able to help answer the questions, as it doesn't appear the original lessee registered it.

In the VW Settlements page, you’ll see what you (current owner) will receive. For instance, mine stated the full $9k+. It’s pretty explicit and the claims adjuster notates such. I’d assume it would be equally as explicit if you were the second beneficiary.

I pulled the trigger on the CD Platinum I was evaluating. What a sweet vehicle! More on that in another thread.

In the meantime, I need to get registered to see if I qualify for any settlement and what not.

Yes, likely. Like most things, time will tell.
According to that link, Diesels under 6000bs scale weight are all exempt, so no testing for the CD. Same thing here in Georgia

Has VW submitted a solution to CARB? Appears there hasn't been squat in the news about a fix with the Nov. deadline fast approaching. I'm not that bright but if this was a simple software fix as some have posted and my tech stated last year then there would of been a fix by now, right?!
