I think you misunderstood my post.

"Our" date refers to the Gen 2.2 SUV approval date that VW must receive from CARB/EPA.

You have nothing to respond to, at this point.

What does Porsche actually do when they physically inspect our vehicle?
Finally after months of trying we got an appointment.

They verify the condition of the vehicle, take photos, check the VIN, and have you fill out a small form. The process takes less than ten minutes.

I think most of us (958.1) are 2.1. The 2.2 are those after the mid-model redesign

Yep, my bad.

13/14 are 2.1 and 15/16 are 2.2, so for the .2 owners, it's 10/23 and for the .1 owners it's 11/8.

I still wonder if they'll figure out the .2 fix and then, basically, convert the .1 folks to a .2 and apply that fix (thus the extra 2 weeks?).

This issue is now just over two years old. One would think they've been working on bringing them all into compliance as soon as they decided to come up with the software fraud. I would think if there is a fix, it's done at this point for all versions.

Or it may be just a simple cash flow adjustment strategy. The longer VW drags this out, the longer money stays in VW's account and their ability to use that money.

I thought the money was already put in escrow?

I think VW accounting "set aside" or "allocated" 21 or 23 billion dollars for this debacle.

If we opted-in but never turn in the final claim nor collect any settlement, do we/I still have a legal path to go after Porsche?

My concern is that I don't believe that I will know the real cost this year.

I could swear in one of our recent discussions about the settlement (maybe about potential for buyback?) someone posted part of the text talking about the dispersement. Can't find it now though

In it, I thought that at the time of the ruling the money was moved to escrow for later dispersement (e.g. VW doesn't get to make interest or later claim they don't have the money). That was important as the blurb talked about dispersing anything left over including any interest that had accumulated.

It stands out to me as I was going to make a snarky comment at the time about VW wanting to drag it out as long as possible to keep making interest. If it is in escrow, however, delaying doesn't really have much benefit in that regard.

Anybody have a clue what happens to those of us who are leasing and turn-in date is at the end of this year (or prior to the supposed fix TBD in December 2017 subject to CARB approval?). My TDI will be returned and will not receive the "fix" during my lease term. Do I still receive the other 50% of my settlement payment?

I've suspected Piech was ultimately behind this escapade by creating atmosphere of winning or else. We shall see.
