Mr12Volt - The solution for Carplay and Android Auto integration

The "clarity" part is a bit impossible because of the limited resolution. We can only cheat our way with blur+shading to make it seem like it wasn't meant to be exact in first place. Since your PCM has a resolution much greater than mine, this should already do:

9YA https://ibb.co/TqzMDKS
Let me know how that works, but text will take a while

Another +1 for this unit from Roman. Had it shipped out to me in Australia, installed it on the weekend in my 2015 Cayenne Diesel.
The only car mod I had done up until this point (ever) was doing the HDD --> SSD change in this Cayenne. I consider myself tech-savvy but not car electronics savvy.
Took probably 4.5 hours or so. All of the tips from others in this thread came in very handy, so thank you all.
Some additional points:
* When putting the quadlock connector back into the PCM, you have to pull the "lever" at the top as far back as it can go. If you don't, the connector won't sit all the way in the PCM, because it can't go any further.
* I installed the Mr12Volt box in that slot under the steering column. For me there is miles of space in here, there is zero risk of the column ever crushing the box.
It is a worthy upgrade to the PCM 3.1 device, honestly it has given my Cayenne a big refresh.

Three Wheelin'
Wow, you were able to fit yours in the steering column? Did you take any pictures? I tried but it didn't fit well at all. I put mine between the HVAC and the transmission tunnel.

I made the mistake of not reading this thread closely enough to notice that I should have bought from Roman, and not directly from the Mr12Volt site. Once I get this working I will buy for my second Cayenne directly from Roman. Mr12Volt is responding, but it seems like once every 24 hours... which is not great when you've got things taken apart.
For now... I could use a little help from this thread while I wait for the next 24 hour response.
Firstly, I don't know about Roman's package, but the package from Mr12Volt looks quite awesome ... but with one exception. The box is high quality, the foam and cutouts make for a great unboxing experience. The one exception is that there are no instructions. None. Zip. Nada. You basically have YouTube vids you can search for. One caution - the video on the website is for a 2015 Macon, whose PCM3.1 was very different from my 958 Cayenne. There's a sped up video of an install on a 958 Cayenne on YouTube, but there are parts that are hard to follow. I found myself going back and forth between vids. Not a great experience. I suppose pro installers might not need instructions, but even basic instructions / diagrams would have been helpful. I would have been ok with a less pretty box that contained basic instructions.
After getting everything installed, I don't see the Mr12Volt splash screen that should be showing on boot. I don't see a bluetooth connection to connect to with my phone, and I don't see a TV option in my source menu. In short, my PCM functions exactly the same as it did before the install.
Questions -
1. What is the USB cable for? There is a point in the Macon vid where this is connected, but it doesn't detail to where. This is connected to nothing in my install.
2. My PCM did not have any optical connectors for the MOST bus before I started. That said, I connected the supplied cable to the back of the unit through the Quad connector as shown and connected the other end to the Mr12Volt box. I don't see any issues with this, but did want to point out that my stock unit did not have anything connected here to start.
Mike.

Ordered mine yesterday, and will post updates on the install when I get to it. Roman made the ordering easy and was a pleasure to deal with.

Mr12Volt got back to me. My PCM is the base audio package. There's a special step that needs to happen to modify the optical cable. Of course, the instructions are in a YouTube vid...
Everything works great now. I love the system and will be buying another (from Roman!) for my other Cayenne.
