From my understanding, each dealership sets up a "standard" for them to code similar cars with before they go on sale, so they don't have to go in and do each module individually when a new car arrives on the lot.

I'm guessing this is what they did with your Cayenne, since it was probably easier for the techs than trying to figure out that one module... Glad to hear you got it fixed.

And yes, you should be able to code the car with the engine running, and that would be safer than nothing... Before I got a battery charger, and while I was still learning how to use the tool, I probably spent an hour or more sitting in the car and coding things with the engine running. I just wouldn't try to adjust any engine things you aren't familiar with until you know whether the engine should be on or off for that procedure (things like EGR flap activation, etc.)

Coded fine. No issues. I assume coding Open and Close panoramic roof with FOB is not going to be an issue? Here we have only Windows, but there are some coding lines for roof comfort functions that are similar to windows.

I noticed those too, and think I have then on, but keep forgetting to test if it works.

I used it all the time on BMW. You open roof, forget to close it, and then just do it with remote. Very convenient

So today check engine came on with 3 codes 1 code for DPF, 1 for active radiator shutters, and 1 is undefined. Somehow I feel it's all related to the fact that battery was disconnected and car was reset. Will call indy tomorrow and see what he thinks. Dont want to clear codes just yet, after all there is recall on a car and DPF is warranty item anyway.

I am thinking of bringing it to dealer and have them look at it....should be free anyway

If the DPF code is legit, it will definitely come back after being cleared.

Here's a wish-list on the parking sensors in two parts:

1. When I pull into the garage, the sensor goes off as I reach my stopping point which is fine. When I start the car to leave again, the front sensor barks even though I am in reverse and pulling out of the garage.
2. Going through the car wash (I know, I shouldn't but #blackcarinseattle), the sensors always freak out as I roll through.

Can we change some of the settings on the parking sensors to be gear dependent? I'd like to not be alerted by the front sensors when the car is in reverse and not alerted by the rear sensors when the car is in drive and not alerted by any sensors when the car is in neutral.

Tech said its not related to anything coding, just coincidence that DPF triggered cel. 2 other codes might not even trigger cel just some glitch after battery disconnect that will clear up. Also said amp coding fault is due to X431 coding since all systems are linked, but he wouldn't even worry about it because everything works fine. < yeah there is fault in external amp, says "coding fault" but there are no issues

Have appointment on Thursday at dealer for recall and possibly new DPF

Has anyone else had trouble accessing the car with their launch x431 v+ recently? After a few months, I tried to hook up the launch today. It had a firmware update so I updated it. But now it won't communicate with the car. I am connecting with the Bluetooth dongle but it doesn't recognize the vin number. So I try the other route by just selecting a generic cayenne and do a quick scan, but none of the modules are available.
If I click on the update tab it has one update available. "VAZ". So I update the vaz and it says installation successful. And then hit refresh and the vaz comes back with an update. Like an endless loop.
The only change I have made is that I installed a tune from FVD. And I haven't tried to access the ecu since the tune until today. I can't imagine downloading a new tune has anything to do with it but that has been the only change. Any ideas?

I had the issue with the VAZ, and I think it's just a bad update for that vehicle type. It continued to do that same thing until they released the v16.01.

I have done several updates, including the main software update (5.01.008), but I don't think I've tried to connect to the car, so let me go try..

EDIT: OK, I was able to connect and run a health report without any issues.... Maybe remove the Porsche dataset and then update to re-download it.

I was able to get everything updated so I am current. Still can't get in. How do I remove the dataset?

Grrr. Still can't get in. And unfortunately I don't have a another car that has an obd2 port to see if it porsche specific or a global problem.

That's weird. There is some troubleshooting stuff online, and it involves deleting all the system files and reinstalling, but I think I'd verify with another car before I went with the nuclear option.

DLN, where did you find that info? I have been looking for info and can't find anything. I sent a trouble ticket to launch but not holding my breath.
