will be curious to see if this breaks 100k. normally i would say no but with only 30k on that motor, maybe it will.
this one ended at 93k for a 55k mile turbo with a replacement engine. not quite six figures but pretty dang close.

can't help but wonder if maybe it would have went higher on BaT. pcarmarket listings certainly seem to have fewer comments, but i guess a lot of the comments on BaT listings are frivolous.

I thought that car went for a pretty high price for what it was---high miles, a bunch of previous owners (supposedly), and as you note a replacement engine. The car doesn't jump out as anything particularly special. If you look at the sale history of 997.1 turbo manual coupes on BAT, most don't have more than 40k miles. The last high mileage (relatively speaking anyway) 997.1 turbo coupe manual that sold on BAT was the end of November and it sold for $89.5k. That car had 60k miles and IMO, the color (a bright blue shade) was definitely more interesting.

I'm sure it won't go up exponentially in that time but still, even $85k before fees is a solid number.
it certainly looks the part - sea blue interior often photos well...
agree $85k this early is unlikely to mushroom but even if it gets to $95K that's a lot of cheese.

odd to open up the engine and not replace/hybrid the turbos though. Why split the case and make all those changes to the block and rods and leave stock snails?

Can't say that I've ever seen or heard of "Dark Olive Metallic".

lol nice that someone went ahead and got those all those same questions out of the way right from the start

upper mid-range of the miles we usually see but the color should help pull this one up

also were those pictures taken by a middle school photography student? almost all of them are using a very shallow depth of field. 75% every photo is out of focus. that's cool for portraits but for auction photos, it's terrible.

I've said it before (probably in this thread) but comments like that in the auction really annoys me - I doubt that for one minute the person leaving the comment is interested in bidding on the car but they just want to show off to other **** retentives on the site. If it wasn't mentioned in the text I guaranteed they would have thrown the coolant line question in there too. If it had 65 miles on the clock rather than 65k I could almost forgive the commenter but it doesn't look like the seller is trying to pretend this is a show-car...

At least that guy appears to have some legitimate bidding activity and even bought a car on BaT. Nine times out of ten, the "DME?? Paint??? Coolant pipes??" ace detectives never bid on anything or at best have some lowball zero-risk bids to make it look like they're more than just peanut gallery know-it-all tire kickers.

I agree, always the same comments from the peanut gallery.

Olive went for $117k before fees. Gotta be a record for a Turbo with more than 60k miles, driven I'm sure almost entirely by the color.

Can't say that I'm a HUGE fan of the color. I like that it's rare. And I'm sure it looks a lot better in person. It looks pretty plain-Jane in photos though. $117k is a good outcome despite only having 7 of the 9 main things pinned.

Either way... a good day on the market for us 997 Turbo owners.
